I have this tag and wanted to get an idea on some public land areas to start looking. PM would be best. Thank you.

I had the tag a few years ago. I scouted 5-6 days in multiple units (061,062,063,071,072,073 I think?). I saw antelope just about everywhere from just north of Carlin to North of Deeth, just not in any concentration. I ended up killing a 16" buck 30 minutes into my hunt (totally lucky) North of Deeth on my way towards the St. Mary's river.

Thanks Hammnit. I had the tag south of Battle Mountain one year and that's the way it was down there too. Just kind of scattered with no real concentrations. You killed a good one!

Are you rifle hunting? My daughter also drew this unit for the early archery antelope hunt. Just looking for any buck as it will be her first archery kill if we are successful. We are driving out to scout it for a few days this Monday. I'll let you know what we find. I've located about 40 water holes so we will check them out first to see if they support any bucks. So far I've learned the water is plentiful in the northern part of the unit but somewhat limited in the southern part. I'm hoping we can set up a blind at a water hole so we might concentrate in the south if there are any goats there. I'm thinking we will camp at Wild Horse State Rec area its somewhat centrally located.
