Access to Unit 102

LAST EDITED ON Sep-13-17 AT 04:34PM (MST)[p]I'm looking at the guzzler map for chukar hunting and found a few in the Elko Hills area of Unit 102. The area is a checkerboard of BLM and private land. Anyone have tips on how to get in there without going through private land? For reference the lat/long of the general area I'm looking at is 40.90749 -115.65265.

You should be able to find a way in as the overlays for those are over a satellite image (you can see roads, more precise).

That said, just because someone owns private lands does not mean the road is not passable. There are many BLM/public roads that cut through private property that you are allowed to travel on legally. You cannot stop and hunt, but you can utilize them.

Also, there are roads that have fences up that can be taken down to pass. Ranchers will use them to keep their cattle in/out of areas and while its legal, they still give access to the roads. Do not be afraid to open them (not sure how familiar you are with Nevada).

There are even property owners who will post their own signs on BLM roads that cut through their property saying no access or whatever. That is illegal and you can still utilize the road provided it is an improved road.
