Nevada Archery ?

Hi all, I am curious if it would be difficult to draw a archery tag for mule deer as a non resident? I have a hell of a time figuring the draw system out but will continue to search. I would prefer northern or northeast/west Nevada if possible.
Thank you for any help.

Don't try to figure out the true odds. It can't be done with the data that's available to the public. You can use the published odds as a simple metric to determine demand.

As for archery tags... it all depends on the unit. You could probably draw an archery deer tag every 1 to 2 to 3 years if you put in for some of the easier tags to draw. The harder draws could take a whole lot more. I'm at 11 pts and cannot draw the higher demand archery tags. I don't put archery across my five choices, but they do make up at least two of my choices annually.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-17 AT 01:14AM (MST)[p]Thank you two for the help, as far as what unit I want to put in for? I really just begun looking, Ruby mountains have always intriged me passing by on I80 but odds don't look so good for that area for next year. Maybe 015 , 051 , 041-042 , Not really sure. Any tips from you guys would be appreciated.
Thank you again, Mark

Ruby?s (area 10) is about the easiest area in the state to draw with a bow. I know guys that like 41-42, but I personally am not a fan.

Ruby's (area 10) has gotten a lot harder to draw the last couple years since they slashed the tags. There are easier to draw archery tags ...

Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I live in far north/east Ca. I will most likely be hunting solo. I am an experienced archer although will probably be looking for my 2nd buck with a recurve.
Thank you for any help, much appreciated. Mark

I hunted 17 years ago archery and I think it's fairly easy to draw, you can make it a rubies like experience if you want it has plenty of pack in areas or you can day hunt from roads.

I haven't archery hunted, so I don't know how that changes the equation, but I would suggest area 6. (061, 062, etc.) At 3:1 odds, it's not that hard to draw. I have had the early rifle tag a couple times. For a newbie/meat hunter like me, it's a great hunt. Pretty easy to fill the tag, but as hard/harder than any unit to find a monster in. As always, it all depends on what you are looking for.

I apologize. There is an early hunt in 10 for archery that has about a 13 percent chance for getting drawn with no points, based on last years numbers.
