Wolf vs. coyote comparisons

From time to time around the state and while afield, I've encountered people who claimed they "saw a wolf" while they were about. I found this pic on the internet of a dead wolf and a coyote strung up together( pic said they were killed in a pasture in Broadus, Montana) I've seen some really big-looking coyotes over the years, but any ideas I might have entertained about them "being wolves" sure got put to rest after seeing this!;-)

I think the identification problem with some people is telling the difference between a coyote and a Mexican grey wolf down south.

I live 2 hours from the Utah boarder, I live in Idaho. I hunt wolves, and I find it very hard to believe that Idaho wolves do not drop into Utah. I have been hearing about these two wolves over the last couple of years running around on the desert and the farming community where I live. I was sure these sightings were coyotes because I could not find them. Both wolves were killed last week 2 miles from my house. Even up here where we have wolves there is an Identifacation problem between coyotes and wolves but once you have seen a real Canadian Grey there is no mistaking coyotes anymore.
