I just ordered my hunting fishing combo and lion tag and the same for !y daughter. All went off without a hitch. 5 minutes combined.

Same here. Easiest license purchase/application I have ever done.
I get it that some aren't a fan of change (if it ain't broke why fix it mindset). but in my opinion, if this system works as its designed it is going to be a great improvement over the clunky old system.
People just have to learn how to get over the little things like having to have a unique email for each applicant in the system. Which, by the way, is only that way for login purposes. You can have tag, application and license information (for as many people as you want) sent to one email. You just have to have that email listed WITHIN your user profile after you are logged in. Easy peasy.

Great to hear. I was just looking through the 2018 Application Guide that is now available on NDOW's site, looks like the new system is going to have an interactive unit map used in the application process. I'm curious to see how that's going to work.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-18 AT 08:01PM (MST)[p]We received our lion tags and hunting licenses in the mail today. They are the newer receipt type paper. Not as durable as the card stock I don't think, but should be better than the old hand written licenses.

I also noticed that my lion tag is good for 365 days as well.

The interactive map is nice. I got to see it when I applied for Turkey.

I just did the application for NR guided as a party. I like that each applicant in the party can use their own form of payment where if you could before I never figured it out

The catch I found is whoever applies first you just make sure you are creating a new party but upon checkout there's a party number (in your receipt screen after you pay) you need to write that down for the rest of the applicants

I kept stopping short of checking out not knowing how to finish the party.

My experience for turkey and hunting/ fishing license went pretty flawless as well. I love that an annual hunting and fishing license doesn't expire in febuarary anymore and you actually get an "annual" term out of it. I also like the fact they got rid of the stamps. All stamps are included in the fishing licenses now! Much better! Not sure about the hunting stamps but I do now the state and federal duck stamps still have to be purchased. Not sure about the upland game stamp.

State duck stamp and upland stamp have been eliminated as well. The only stamp is the federal duck stamp

I started the application process this morning to see how it works seems pretty simple really.

It's terrible for smart phones. Got all my applications done and license, all of that in the cart. Clicked on the cart and couldn't actually checkout, it wouldn't allow me to scroll down. Had to start over and ensure that I hit checkout on my last application

Looks like they left my NR Nelson Bighorn Sheep application option off. I have bonus points, but it just did not give me an option to apply for it. I contacted them and they are looking into it. All other application for other species worked flawlessly. I assume it is an oversight....

The issue was transferring the old data into the new system. NDOW and Kalkomey are working almost 24/7 to get everything ironed out. Try refreshing your account. I bet it's fixed already.

I contacted NDOW concerning the issue and they got back to me right away. They got the problem fixed and I was able to apply with out any further issues. NDOW advised that they were still having some minor errors with old data being transferred to new system.

It looks like they take PIW money upfront now instead of charging after the normal draw. Is the PIW draw held first now, or will they be refunding people who drew in the normal draw and aren't eligible for the PIW draw for the species they drew?

PIW draws are first. This is not new this year.

When did it change? I was not charged for PIW application in the past if i drew in the normal draw. And the PIW charges were always after the draw was complete. Why would they wait to charge that later if the draw was first anyways?

I believe this is the first year PIW is drawn first. It's so youre in the drawing for what should be the best tag first.
