I'll try to answer your question as best I can.
Here in Nevada we call that area 6.
It includes hunt units 061, 062, 064, 066, 067 and 068. Unit 065 is in area 6 but is no longer part of the unit group and is managed as a separate hunt.
The reason there are a lot of tags in area 6 is because there are a lot of deer in those units and some of the bucks do get big.
If you put in enough time to learn the unit well you will be able to get away from the roads and the majority of hunting pressure. In the early season it is tougher to find the big boys but they are there.

thats kind of what i was after. bucks typically dont get big hanging out by the road, but if there are nooks and crannies that get overlooked, you can turn them up most units, if they are there. the million dollar question is if they are there. im guessing there pull a few 180+ out each year?

Yes, they pull a few 180?+ deer out of 6?s every year. I think that every unit in Nevada probably has a few 180?deer. 6?s get crowded and you'll have to wade through some small bucks in search of a big boy. Good luck in the draws.????SS
Some of the best genetics around northern Nv. For the most part, people in Nevada are pretty lazy hunters. Lots of country that never see a deer hunter. I would expect a reduction in tags in the years to come. If you draw a tag, hit me up, I'll share more detailed info. it was my forth choice behind area 10 if that tells you anything.
