Odds go from sh1tty to crappy. NV has some of the worst odds out there.

So any guide can represent you in any region? Is it you vs other guys doing the unit? Where is the data?

The restricted guide draw is a completely separate draw and helps your odds immensely. You must choose your guide and put his information on your application, so arrangements need to be made in advance.

Heres my dilemma. Me and a buddy have 12 pts each. We decided to not shoot the moon and just get a tag for a decent buck. My buddy knows a guy that will guide us (cheap) but we have to carry him. Now our avg is 8.....

We were looking at 101 late. Odds look better with 8 on guided but wonder. Thank you guys for the info.

Doesn?t sound like such a good deal to me. I wouldn't waste four years of points on a cheap hunt in the rubies. Also the guy you would apply with will have to be a nonresident to qualify for that hunt And I'm pretty sure he can't guide him self so you would have to hire another master guide anyway. Not sure how that could all legally work out. Be careful and good luck.

His friend is the guide and he wont charge us. Or chargw very much.

That makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying that.
I've been involved in this non-resident guided hunt for years, both as a hunter and a sub guide and I can tell you the guides don't make a lot of money even when they charge the going rate.
