ARTIFACTS RAID/STING???

Elk,

So what should the government do about people stealing from public lands and profiting from it? Ignore it?

You whine like a beotch about the Bundy's getting away with grazing for years and that the Feds did nothing. You whine like Beotch when they try to enforce the law. You memorialize Lavoy and whine like Beotch that he was gunned down in cold blood.

Why not just admit that you will never be happy with anything the government does? You cry when they enforce the law and cry when they don't.

The Gardner dude is taking a self imposed dirt nap, suppose he felt remorse for how the whole thing turned out? Why do all these devout Mormons decide that dying is the answer instead of standing up for what is right?

So you didn't bother reading the article?

Quote:
Two days later, on March 1, Gardiner's roommates heard a gunshot in his room. When a patrolman arrived, Gardiner pointed the .38 at him.

?You're going to have to do what you're going to do,? Gardiner yelled from his bed.

The officer fired. The bullet missed. Gardiner slumped out of sight.

From behind the bed came a single crack, then silence.

Gardiner was dead from a gunshot above his right ear.

I read it....all of it. The feds are really important people....GREAT people.

Guess I didn't Read it all!

Good to know a LOWLIFE BASTARD like Gardiner is gone!

And I Quote:

So what should the government do about people stealing from public lands and profiting from it? Ignore it?

Well NeMont!

Let's not Ignore it!

Let's Hire a LOWLIFE DRUGGIE/NARC that Broke way more Laws & way more time dealing with/Selling/Trading Artifacts than Dr Redd ever did!

That Birdie Bead He Picked up valued between 40.00-200.00 basically cost Him His Life!

His Wife Admitted Her & Her Daughter were the 2 in the Family doing most of the Gathering & they didn't do F'N SQUAT to them!

So Ya NeMont!

SPLAIN That Sshiiitttt!

And Ya,Tell us all how it's Fine & F'N Dandy for your Government to Break all the F'N Rules when they want to?

Just So You Know NeMont!

They shoulda done something about it Many,Many,Many Years ago!

You Got Some kind of F'N CHART that shows how many Artifacts are left un-disturbed compared to what there originally was?

I'd like to see that Chart!

You should read the stuff you post. It explains why the doctor took the cowards way out of it.

Just like you the judge in the case has soft spot for widows of guys who decide to check out.

I never said the government was right or did the right thing. I said it doesn't matter what they do you beitch like a little girl about and idolize the wrong people.

Nemont

This is the first time I've heard the story.

Always know your buyer and seller.

Take your blood pressure medicine NeMont, it was a joke.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-15-17 AT 08:56AM (MST)[p]Homer,

Why do you believe everything in a story without double checking it first? Are you certain the story is accurate in it's details of how many law enforcement officers there were and what the officers did or didn't do?

http://www.sltrib.com/home/3682765-155/judge-tosses-final-lawsuit-in-2009

Seems like a lot of what Jeanne Redd and her family contended didn't hold up in the light of day or they were provable false claims but hey who cares about the truth if it makes the government look bad. These poor people were only committing felonies and that is fine as long as you are a Mormon in Utah, right?

Nemont

Nemont you need to read between the lines on that link you posted. 22 armed federal agents is excessive for that type of raid.
This is typical of certain federal investigations where they look for a high profile suspect to make a point. That agent zeroed in on the doctor because taking down that doctor would send a big message to the community. As a result they inflated the price of that small pendant to make a felony case when they figured out they only had a misdemeanor on the doctor that required a citation to be issued.

I have seen this type of action by federal agents on several occasions. The agent is looking to make a high profile arrest in hopes of a promotion by getting recognized by his superiors who are back in Washington and do not even know the agent exists among the thousands working for them.

I am not excusing the doctor or his wife for their violations, but it was a clear cut over reach on the doctor because a particular federal agent wanted to make a name for himself.

RELH

Are you really that na?ve enough to believe the judge got all the facts and truth from the federal agents involved.

RELH

So NeMont?

How Many Artifacts do you have Stashed?

And Don't Give Me that BS Story of:

'I've Never Picked anything up'!

I have a collection of arrow heads and my prize is a spear point. We find indian hammers, grinding stones etc all the time on the family ranch.

Here is a professional excavation of a Teepee rings on the family ranch when a gas pipeline was crossing it.

All the stuff I have picked up over the years has been on private land so I guess if you want to be a picker, just don't steal from the public.

So if a judge rules doesn't that put to bed the legal question? I don't recall saying the judge had all the facts or he got all the facts. I said the judge ruled and isn't that how our system works?

Tell me how many agents was the absolutely correct number to make it safe for everyone involved? How did you arrive at that number and why you believe it is without a doubt the right number of agents?

Also what does the number of agents have to do with the Good Doctor deciding a dirt nap was better then fighting to clear his name?

Nemont

Four officers would have been sufficient for that serving of a search warrant. There was no facts given that showed the doctor or his wife would resist with force to justify such a large amount of armed officers. It was done for show.
My main problem was that it was very oblivious that agent love was going to stretch the facts in order to arrest the doctor on a felony. That doctor was welled liked in that community and the agent knew that it would send a clear message to the community that if you dig up artifacts this is what is going to happen to you.
I have worked with FBI, ATF, and secrete service agents and I have learned one important rule about them. The closer they are to the Washington D.C. office, the less you trust them.

RELH

Fair enough.

I never said you should trust them, I said that my initial reaction would not be to decide to check out but to lawyer up and fight back. Maybe there was more the doctor knew that wasn't in the story.

Nemont

Hey NeMont!

Looks like a F'n Pile a Rocks to me!

And Just Because You've Got Arrowheads/Shed Antlers on your Own Ground doesn't Mean You Own them Nor can You Legally Pick them up!

Really? what comic book are you reading now days? Of course they look like rocks to you that is why you fear picking up things on your own property. You don't really know what you are looking for

Have you bothered to check with what is legal and not legal to pick up and even to sell? Provenance is key: pictures of objects in situ, gps data, date, time and location all are key to whether or not you can keep any of these items.

If the item is considered "grave goods" then no, you can't just willy nilly ransack or desecrate a native grave or burial site.

Arrowheads, Indian hammers, grinding stones spear points, atlatl darts, shed antlers, dinosaur bones that are on your deeded land can and will be picked up if found by somebody smart enough to read and understand the written word.
