Why Raise the Debt ceiling?

If the debt is decreasing why do we need to raise the debt ceiling?

Could it be because President Trump saw a bunch of cash in the Treasury and has been spending it like a drunken sailor?

Those who proclaim to be Fiscal conservatives should be outraged but nary a whimper about what the Trump White House is doing.

I guess we can watch the party end under Trump if that floats everyone's boat. He has never made a full debt payment in his business life who maybe his plan is to stiff all the retirement plans and American investors who hold the majority of our debt.

If you read the articles it requires them to not have large excess amounts of cash. Obviously they have probably been using that money to pay down debts.

Yes I read the article, that then begs the question-If you are burning through your cash and claiming that as a decrease in debt is that really a decrease? Would your balance sheet look so rosy in the coming months?

How does causing turmoil in our bond market help with all the stuff that is on the to do list? Interest rates are rising and with every 1% rise in rate it costs us another $200 Billion in just interest payments.

First off the debt fluctuates a lot month to month. That's mostly a Trumpism that it dropped 60 billion since he took office.

Besides, how many billion in a trillion? A 60 billion drop is like saying you didn't go to Starbucks's this morning and saved a ton of money.

The debt won't be a big deal again until a democrat is in the whitehouse.
