The US pays 3.2% and Germany and France are below 1% so no they don't pay for their share. The Germans said they paid some to the UN etc. That is not for NATO. If you want US protection then you need to pay up period. If not then close down the bases and redeploy the troops. Same with the UN. Take the money and use it here or eliminate some debt. The UN has turned into an American haters club.

Go ahead and stop funding the UN but don't pretend that the $3 billion we spend on the UN is going to eliminate any debt. That is less then we gift to Israel every year and that won't stop either.

Also we gain by having a free and stable Europe. Period. It is worth the costs.

I am uncertain why the same people who want to cut off care to the elderly, starve the poor and give tax cuts to the wealthy also want more military spending, then whine that other countries aren't paying us. We shouldn't be the mercenaries of the world.

Ummm...what does Johnson have to do with anything? Entitlement number one, Social Security has been in place since 1935.

You want to stop allowing people into our country but if that happens then Ponzi scheme ends. You need younger people to continue to paying into both Social Security and Medicare to keep those programs working. You need them to breed like rats to make sure the that you get yours. That is just a fact of math. Trump has said he has no interest in fixing either problem so the automatic spending of Social Security, Medicare and Debt service will continue on unabated. In addition he want to cut taxes and increase spending on the discretionary side.

You can't grow your way out of debt if 71% of every Federal dollar goes out the door as mandatory spending. $2.7 Trillion of the budget for FY 2018 is Social Security, Medicare and other mandatory spending. You could cut the Discretionary budget to zero and still not begin to pay off the national debt without adjustments in the mandatory spending. Almost all the mandatory budget goes to finance or take care of Boomers who are or will be aging into benefits and will never accept cutting a single dollar from the biggest drivers of our debt. That is just a fact of you generation.
