The House Republicans have added another $85 Billion worth of tax credits to the Trumpcare bill to try and buy some Republican votes for the repeal bill.

Has anyone bothered to look at how much they expect premiums to do under Trumpcare? That is an interesting number. If you are still pi$$3d about Obama saying you will save $2,500 you should be a little be honest with yourself and figure out what you won't get from Trumpcare.

I take it you either you don't know how to read or you don't care what Trumpcare is actually going to do rates.

I have tried and tried to educate idiots like you by showing you a picture of a chart. You just cannot be taught anything so I quit. You really should pay back the state of Utah for the anything they paid on you behalf at a public school.

Your buddy is going through all this and the affects on rates is laughable. I guess when you get your Trumpcare bill it will be enough to just say, "I told you so". Oh that's right you don't give flying Phuuck about anyone else. You are a boomer on Medicare.

Well anyway you will get a Medicare gift too when Trumpcare passes.

Here is a gift to you from you hero:

Some conservatives in Washington were fuming on Tuesday after an Obamacare rollback bill was tweaked by Republican leaders to delete a provision meant to crack down on illegal immigrants getting federal healthcare insurance coverage.

I doubt the conservative wing will pass it.

I don't think losing your signature legislative goal is akin the High crimes and misdemeanors. If he loses in the House that would be highly embarrassing and could knee cap many of his other priorities. I don't think they can do much with tax reform until the health care deal is settled. Hard to craft a bill that is conservative enough to please the freedom caucus and appease enough moderate Senators who come from Medicaid expansion state.

Maybe we should ask him to show us the beautiful and terrific plan he said he had ready on day one of his presidency. The one the will cover everyone, much better and much cheaper. Where is that plan?

I suspect it is as mythical as proof that president Obama had his "wire tapped".

That's how the process is supposed to work. They aren't supposed to shove a 27000 page piece of legislation down the throats of the American people in the dark of night.

I keep saying it and I'll say it again. Trump ##### up by even mentioning the word healthcare when he ran for POTUS. He should have said from day one that The American people voted for Obamacare when they elected Obama and that by trying to replace it with some other bill simply would not work. He should have made it clear that Obamacare on it's own would have to fail completely in order for the populace to want it repealed and then a new plan could be put in place.

Now the turd will be pushed to the Republican's pocket because when people aren't happy about Trumpcare, Democrats will say we told you so, you should have stuck with Obamacare. The political fallout will not bode well for Republicans unless Trumpcare is great and wonderful which right now doesn't seem so great and wonderful.

The bottom line is that there is no great and wonderful plan. Trump embellished his healthcare agenda during the campaign to get elected, and any half sensible person knows that ALL politicians promise the world before election day. At this point he should be honest with the American people and tell us that our system is based on capitalism but true capitalism doesn't exist in healthcare so it cannot work and that single payer is our only option.

Everybody Should Pay their Chunk of the Change!

It Doesn't Matter!

Even when there's a Plan where the Government is Making Money off of it They'll Waste the Profit without even thinking!

Of Course We all gotta Support the Free-Loadin Bastards!

I like how the orange one says the republicans better pass it or else. or else what? he'll use his historical unpopularity to crush them?

The tax cuts won't do the job. it's still too generous to the poor for the conservatives.

The worst thing that could happen to the republicans is to pass this bill. conversely the best thing for democrats is for republicans to pass this bill. it's a win either way.

"All according to the lefts plan."

And... the Republican healthcare plan is the terrific plan that Donald Trump promised? Come on DW be honest about healthcare would ya. Yes Obamacare blows but it's pretty obvious that Republicans have no wonderful terrific plan to replace it with that will do everything that Trump said.

What would your plan be?

I'll answer your question with a question even though I hate that. What has driven the price of health care thru the roof?

Whole hosts of reason care costs so much. New Technology, new drugs, new research, Unhealthy lifestyles and government rules and regulations.

Care to explain how the Trumpcare bill does a single thing to reign in any of those costs? Doesn't touch medicare, doesn't touch Pharma, doesn't touch Illegal immigrants.

Single payer works good enough for you mom and dad, why not for you kids and you?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-17 AT 03:26PM (MST)[p]Government will not have the answer. Single payer will make a mess of everything. There will be lines longer than your illness will allow. The profession will pay less turning the B student into the brain surgeon. If it works so great why are there fewer doctors accepting these patients? I noticed you left off one major driver of healthcare cost. Why is it when I tell them I'm paying cash and not using insurance they cut my bill in half? Is it because they feel sorry for me?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-17 AT 03:34PM (MST)[p]Try running up a bill for heart surgery and a hospital stay and see how much of your cash they take. You will be rolling pennies to buy gas.

If one third of Americans can't come up with $2,000 for emergency expenses how will they come up with $110,000 to pay for bypass surgery?

I get it you pay cash for the nickel and dime stuff that is easy, try getting a brain surgeon to accept half of his fee or the OR costs at the facility he uses.

Insurance isn't innocent but if it were as easy as you claim more people would be doing it.

Nemont

Where do you buy catastrophic insurance that meets the requirements to licensed in your state?

Where do you come up with this stuff? Did Judge Napalitano tell you this? There will still be private insurance companies even if Single Pay existed. Don't like the gubberment insurance, fine, get a private policy.

Single Pay is not the end of the world when it comes to choice, you will still have choices in the private market.

Nemont explain the difference between health care and health insurance to him, I'm bored.

Here's a good read for you DW.

http://www.drsforamerica.org/blog/what-if-doctors-got-paid-only-medicare-rates

Doctors dump medicare patients when they have plenty of private pay patients that they don't need or want the lower paying cases. According to this study though, doctors would still fare pretty well in a single payer system.

It's just like my line of work. When I am loaded with big jobs I ditch the service work because it's a pain in the ass and doesn't pay as well. Doctors are no different. Why take Medicare patients when you have more private patients than you can handle?

Call me a liberal all you want for buying into the single payer idea but I'm not, I'm a realist. I'm paying for other people's healthcare as it is through taxes and higher insurance premiums so what's there to lose?

You say wait times will be longer and quality of care will suffer but I say have you ever been to an emergency room or clinic in California? It's already ridiculous so what would be the difference?

I wouldn't call ya a liberal forkie, you don't strike me as one. The blog link you posted is 6yrs old and I read the comments from other doctors and mba's at the end who brought up interesting points as well. I suspect the gap has widened in the past 6yrs and maybe even the authors view has changed. I just don't see the government, in complete control of the health care system as a good thing, which is what single payer will give them. The last thing they need is more power and control.

I completely agree that government control of things isn't the best solution all the time. The problem is that you can't have government control a large percentage of something and then try to make it fair for the remaining percentage of people not getting their healthcare paid for by government.

So, either government has to get totally out of the way which means ending Medicare, Medicaid, the VA and whatever else to allow the market to adjust to people paying for their own healthcare either out of pocket or with their own insurance.

I really don't foresee any politicians, or enough people willing to get on board with that kind of drastic policy change so what other options are available? In the county I live in 55% of the population is on Medi-Cal which is Medicaid and another 12% are on Medicare. That alone is two thirds of our county already on government healthcare. So again, what is the plan that reverses all of this?

I still say we can slash the cost of care and insurance with PPC's and major medical coverage. The less government and big insurance are involved in the relationship the less they will cost.

What company in Colorado is selling you a "catastrophic plan" that goes with your PPC?

Nemont

I have neither but I don't have single payer either as we're at the crossroads in which direction we take.
