Republican Congress Loves Obamacare.

For themselves and their staff. Obamacare is a disaster but congress needs the protections in Obamacare more than the people.

The new Republican amendment, introduced Tuesday night, would allow states to waive out of Obamacare?s ban on preexisting conditions. This means that insurers could once again, under certain circumstances, charge sick people higher premiums than healthy people.

Republican legislators liked this policy well enough to offer it in a new amendment. They do not, however, seem to like it enough to have it apply to themselves and their staff. A spokesperson for Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-NJ), who authored this amendment, confirmed this was the case: Members of Congress and their staff would get the guarantee of keeping these Obamacare regulations.

No wonder the Freedom Caucus came on board, they won't have to face losing their own Obamacare protections.

This thing is beyond crazy anymore. they don't think anyone will notice ?

I'm sure the minions will see nothing wrong with it.

I'm starting to think we're not ALL going to have fabulous health care with lower premiums and lower deductibles. it's almost like someone lied. or something.

The Democrat members are just as guilty when it comes to their health care. To see real change in health care, Congress and all Federal employees would have to be put on the same program that Joe the plumber gets. That will never happen with Congress having the right to vote yea or nay on their health care.

Here is the bigger question, why should local, state or federalelected officials receive any healthcare benefits or pensions when they leave office?

Given the fact that 98% of the Congress are millionaires the metric from days past does not seem to be applicable.

There goes RELH again. off into the wild blue yonder.

The ACA passed by congress requires congress get the insurance like the low life peasants they work for. the same rules apply. they wanted to show what's good for one is good for all by putting skin in the game.

Now the republicans want to gut the provisions the peeons once liked and keep them only for themselves. which you seem to be in favor of since you're on socialized medicine and pre-existing conditions aren't an issue.

This is exactly like the guy working at the post office getting insurance? how?

Sorry Dude but Congress still gets SPECIAL TREATMENT under the Obamacare plan that Joe the plumber does not get.

The ObamaCare Exemption for Congress is essentially a myth.

It turns out that reports that members of Congress were exempt from ObamaCare were mostly without merit.

Members of Congress, and their staffers, have to buy their health insurance on the exchanges along with millions of other Americans, although they do follow some special rules.

Congress and their staffers are on a SHOP plan (an ObamaCare plan for employers). This allows them to retain their tax-payer provided ?employer? contribution while still technically being on the exchange.

In other words, they certainly do get special treatment, but the grand result is they still have to pay a portion of their premiums and they are still on the same ObamaCare plans as the rest of us.

With that said, the MacArthur Amendment, the Republican plan noted below, actually lets Congress opt-out of the Republican repeal and replace plan and stay on ObamaCare!

So, yes Congress and their staffers have been on ObamaCare since January 1st 2014, and it seems like they will still be on it under TrumpCare as it stands now.

It gets better, guess who will benefit the most from the proposed Tax Reform? Any guesses? Here is a clue, 51% of Congress are millionaires.

Of course they get paid insurance they're government employees. it's not who pays for it it's what they get in question.

The tax plan is DOA. even republicans know when they've pushed too far.

If they took away the perks nobody would would run for office. Millionaires are more greedy than poor people usually. I guarantee before anyone runs for County Supervisor or President, the first thing they consider is what's in it for them.

Of course they do, why do you think Trump refused to divest ? business in Russia and China is off the hook .

It's good to be the king.
