Park City Bans Plastic Bags

So on the local side of things here in Tardville. Park City has banned plastic bags with concerns to the environment. Well last I checked in a capitalist economy you lower your cost by innovation and competition. Congrats Park City your eco-friendly bags just went up in price by kicking the competitor to the curb. Park City is everything that is wrong with summit county. We need to keep these idiots in California.

The hippies bringin their unwashed cloth bags full of salmonella and ecoli is much better than plastic. Then they can buy plastic bags to pick up their dogs poop instead of repurposing those plastic grocery bags. Phughin idiots!

Yeah next thing you know they'll have shop rags at all their trailhead's in the PC area with some twisty ties for the dog poop. They are a very special kind of stupid it's too bad the influence of PC is getting pushed further into summit county and over into Wasatch county.

California banned those skimpy little plastic grocery bags too. On top of that they charge a $.10 fee (tax) on every paper bag you use.

They want you to use a gunny sack, I guess. Not me.

When they ask how many paper sacks I want I tell them 8. "Take 4 and double them up. I support the timber industry."

The early morning cashier got to know me and he always thought that was pretty funny. Now, when I get home and look at my grocery receipt, I notice he always forgets to charge me the paper bag tax. I like that guy.

So..you are for state's rights but not local municipalities rights? There are some 230 municipalities stretching from Hawaii to the east coast with such bans. If not banned, they have imposed a $.05-$.20 fee for either plastic or paper.

It is funny, when I was in Cali (pre-ban) like Eel I would always ask the kid bagging to double bag'em. Gotta put that dog crap in something!

In some cases voters have overturned plastic bag bans but at the end of the day it is the voters that decide. You fellas are not consistent with your views on State or Municipality rights.

Just be glad they did not try what the liberal Democrats tried to do in CA. concerning plastic grocery bags.
You still would have the option of using plastic at a cost of 10 cents per bag. Here is the catch, the 10 cents per bag would not go to the store but instead be paid to the state of CA. That went over like a lead balloon and enough opposition was voiced that the store now gets the 10 cents since they have to buy the bags in the first place.

RELH, my understanding was that those single use plastic bags are totally banned. You can still use the paper bags but the State collects a 10 cent tax per bag.

I notice that stores have plastic bags but they're heave duty now. I never used the flimsy one's anyway unless there was no other choice.

And they still have the flimsy bags in the produce department like Walt said. WTF?

Trying to keep up with the liberal mentality is exhausting.
