Okay, first of all Bessie I'm not really sure what you are asking or implying. First off let's clarify that NO we do not have a weapon with the power of a nuclear device without radioactive fallout.

About 6 months ago at around 1am something came over my place that was unlike any other jet noise I have ever heard. What struck as odd was it's pulse like reverberation and how long it lasted which had to have been a good 8 minutes and it was not circling. I grew up along the flight path of Moffet Airbase which is mostly P3s, but we had our share of C-130, C5Bs, and assorted jets.

In my area between the Air National Guard at Boise Airport (A-10 Warthogs) and Mountain Home the skies always entertain C-130s, F-15s, F-16s, and on occasion F-22s and F-35s along with an assortment of Helicopters.

Given that our B-1, B-2, & B-21 bombers are stationed in places like Diego Garcia I would have no idea what you heard but the likelihood of it being on a live mission given potential threats globally is pretty slim.

The Only Thing I Can Figure is The Plane was So Far in Front of the Sound reaching the Ground it was Gone before We heard the Noise!

But it sure didn't Sound Like it was far off the Ground!

If I had to take a guess which is silly based on your description it could have been an F-15, B-1, or even an SR-71 given it is summer and there are a few SR-71s that show up at air shows from time to time. All 3 are loud if they are at full after burner and all 3 are capable of extremely high speed. So as mentioned by the time you hear it, run outside and look up they are 30 miles past you.

Either case if the sound was going from East to West or West to East I would guess the flight was either leaving from or heading to Malmstrom in Montana.

The only reason I mention Malmstrom is the fact that after burners use a lot of fuel, so if the goal was to dump fuel before landing it would make sense. As well Malmstrom one of the homes to the Global Strike Command.

As for these non-nuclear super weapons you keep referring to but can never name you have to keep a couple of thing in mind. First off, any weapons systems must be tested so firing off something of that magnitude isn't like farting when a train goes by. It will be noticed.

There have been wild theories about the Rods of God or kinetic bombardment from a space platform along with Project Thor. Both ideas were born in the 50's during the cold war an neither was ever implemented.

In the late 60's....(oh no, here we go again

) I spent some time on Red Mountain Lookout tower in northern CA. on forest fire watch. The tallest mountain around and usually absolutely dead quiet.

About twice a week some military hot shot fighter pilots would buzz the tower. If you were lucky enough, you could see them coming. (I only saw them ahead of time 1 time). If not, out of no where a giant loud BOOOOOM. Scare the living daylights out of you. It actually hurt my ears. At that point they were way out there, just barely visible. I have no idea what kind of plane. I could almost see them laughing their ass off. LOL
