It's All About the Base ...

Good for Trump to condemn them, I recall one past president that had a hard time condemning Black lives Matter and Moslem terrorists.

Dude in your ignorance you are missing the fact that home grown terrorist was under FBI surveillance and arrested under Trump's watch as president. But, we expect that of you as you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

It is estimated that 5% of the population is a member of one of these ##### hate groups. It's probably safe to assume that most all of them voted in this past election and cast their emboldened vote for Trump. If his core group of voters is 30% as reported then 1 in 6 voters in his core group is one of these haters. No wonder he did not denounce them on the first day. At least the AG is calling the car ramming an act of domestic terrorism.

Obama didn't call the Baltimore thugs terrorist. Trump said the hate needs to stop on both sides. I think the protest was a joke. Tearing down the statue of a war general that was a part of american history is a joke to Pu55boy.

White power may have its limits but it's not going away anytime soon Kid. It's like what men have over women, pass all the equality laws you want but the dominance will continue.

Worrying about being deported is not Dude's problem. His problem is that he is a psychopath miserable human that hates everything and everyone and wants to make everyone as miserable as he is.
I have gotten to the point I ignore most of his posts except when I want to prick his miserable hide. In other words, if Dude was on fire, I would not walk across the street to p!ss on him.

◾Duke ran for governor of Louisiana in 1991 as a Republican, and Trump said at the time that President George H.W. Bush was right ?to come out against? Duke?s campaign. Duke lost but he won a majority of the white vote ? which Trump found troubling. ?I hate seeing what it represents,? Trump said, referring to what he called the ?anger vote.?
◾In 2000, Trump considered running for the Reform Party presidential nomination but did not run because he said he did not want to be associated with Pat Buchanan, who had left the Republican Party to seek the Reform Party nomination, and David Duke, who supported Buchanan. Trump at the time called Duke ?a bigot, a racist, a problem.?

So are we to believe Trumps words from the past as being what he truly believes? Which Donald Trump is to be believed on anything? He can change positions based on who is audience is and on where he thinks he can get the best reaction.

-Trump wrote. "We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by health care expenses. We must not allow citizens with medical problems to go untreated because of financial problems or red tape."
When he turned to how the country might achieve universal coverage, Trump focused like a laser beam on a Canadian-style, single-payer plan. He said it would eliminate many billions of dollars of overhead.

- In his book The America We Deserve, published in 2000 Trump Wrote, ?I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today?s internet technology we should be able to tell within 72 hours if a potential gun owner has a record.?

-"In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat," Trump told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in a 2004 interview. "It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now, it shouldn't be that way. But if you go back, I mean it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats. ...But certainly we had some very good economies under Democrats, as well as Republicans. But we've had some pretty bad disasters under the Republicans."

Pick any issue and he has changed his position on it multiple times and is likely to change again when the winds blow a different direction.

How can anyone trust that Trump has a core belief in anything? ne

We are stuck with him whether we like it or not. He is in no way a traditional politician from either party. He was not Hillary or Jeb Bush so he won. He makes mistakes daily. He appointed one SC justice and likely one more then he can go away. It doesn't matter if you like him or not. He is there for at least 3 more years and could very well get re-elected if the economy is strong and they pass healthcare reform. The rest of the hand wringing is a waste of energy.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-17 AT 11:51AM (MST)[p]None of that means that you have to agree with him, support his stupidity and not call him out for his $hitty way of doing business. The only healthcare he will get passed is to strengthen Obama care or single payer, otherwise he has lost. He has not been the great deal maker he claims and daily poisons that legislative process particularly in the Senate.

Since we want to keep Teddy Roosevelt in the mix, Teddy had it right:

?To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.?

― Theodore Roosevelt

Trump has no core, he has never been a conservative, ever. He even admits as much by saying, "I grew up in New York and you know, I have a different view of things being from New York". He doesn't give two $hyts about middle America. it is an act, a con that the slow and dim witted gulp down like an extra large slurpees from 7 Eleven.

Correct. He was a liberal democrat and is now a moderate republican. Is McCain a conservative? Not a chance. He is just like his daughter and the latest polls here he is liked by more democrats than republicans. The parties are both outdated. We will see more of this in the future. Trump was not Hillary and that is how he won. People just don't like politicians and they have earned the lack of respect. I think Trump is embarrassing but he is what we have. He is definitely better than Hillary Clinton IMO.

I have to agree with gleninaz 100%. I just hope that Trump can do more good for the country then bad during the time he has in office. His appointment to the SC was a great start.

RELH

McCain is a lame duck senator who doesn't have the bully pulpit of POTUS. McCain had his day in the sun and now it is past. Trump is a problem for the Republicans but more importantly will highly damage the conservative movement.

But hey as long as you are happy I guess that is all that counts.

Nemont

Nemont I am happy that it is not crooked Hillary in office. It is beginning to sound like you would have preferred her over Trump.

RELH

Agree that Trump is a problem for both conservatives and republicans. He is neither and none of those managed to win the election. The fact that a narcissistic egomaniac could beat both parties says a mouthful. People were sick and tired of the status quo and the lies. They elected the orange man and we are all stuck with him. If nothing else he will adjust the SC for decades. He may also give us a real economy to lift all boats. Could be worse.

Nemont, it's hard to take your claims as the only "real" conservative here and the rants of Trump being a liar & conman serious when you professed on this forum support for Kassich. Seems that you fall into the same categories you've bestowed on Trump.

He just abolished the business council.

From Twitter;
"Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!"

He doesn't need them anyway, he already knows everything!

Glen says he is an "embarrassment" and Relh agrees. I say he's a jackas$.

I never claimed any of that but I know where to find a bunch of fakes and liars when it comes to claims they are conservative but continue to give cover to a talking Yam.

mm.com is rife with them, you couldn't swing a cat on here without dealing with fakers who claim they are conservative but take with both hands.

So if it is hard to take me serious, jimmy crack corn.

I know this, Kassich wouldn't be 8 months into a presidency with majorities in both houses and still not have diddly squat on the legislative win. Trump claims to be the greatest deal maker ever, yet he can't make a deal on his number one priority. Don't blame him though, right?

Keep cheering on Trump, he will do to the Republicans what Obama did to the Democrats. Then you will finally wake up and understand you are part of the problem for continue to support a guy like Trump.

But hey as long as you are happy who cares about the future, right?

Be careful with the jimmy crack corn comment Nemont, I'm hip to the Urban dictionary.

I am not a Trump fan and you are self professed Kassich supporter that makes you a fake conservative like you claim everyone else to be. Don't throw stones in glass houses my friend.

Well Then!

If Trump wants Black Guns Banned!

Dude will Love Him!

There is more to being a conservative than cutting taxes, wanting to kill all Muslims and hating Obama because his father was black.

Kasich is solidly in the Reagan conservative realm. I wiould take that any day of the week over the Shyt show the human tanning bed is presiding over. I guess Reagan was a RINO too?

Nemont

Try big govt republican. He might be close to a Reagan democrat but far from a Reagan conservative.

Dislike for Obama has nothing to do with his skin and everything to do with my rejection of centralized government in this country. Taxes in this country could be fixed easily with a flat tax and doing away with the current corrupt system that all your favorite politicians seem to like since its power makes them all rich and powerful. Kill all muslims? C'mon I would think a smart self proclaimed conservative could come up with something better than three progressive talking points and a over used orange joke to make your case? Pathetic!

Personally I don't lay claim to any one party or ideology. I just know that we are making a big mistake by trying to get away from a limited constitutional govt. that is the only conversation any of us should be having not arguing over all the propaganda put out by every group with an agenda. I said 35 years ago that political correctness, misuse of technology & runaway govt would doom this country. Looks like I'm being proven right every day?
