He fights by Evan Sayet

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I'm not bothered by Donald Trump?s lack of decorum. They ask if I don't think his tweets are ?beneath the dignity of the office.?

Here?s my answer:

We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized ?collegiality? as John McCain? We tried propriety ? has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.

This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

I don't find anything ?dignified,? ?collegial? or ?proper? about Barack Obama?s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party. I don't see anything ?dignified? in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don't see anything ?statesman-like? in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent. Yes, Obama was ?articulate? and ?polished? but in no way was he in the least bit ?dignified,? ?collegial? or ?proper.?

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ?60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale. It has been a war they've fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one ? the violent take-over of the universities ? till today.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America?s first wartime president in the Culture War. During wartime, things like ?dignity? and ?collegiality? simply aren't the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming. Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, ?I cannot spare this man. He fights.

General George Patton was a vulgar-talking, son-of-a-#####. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum, then Hitler and the Socialists would barely be five decades into their thousand-year Reich.

Trump is fighting. And what's particularly delicious is that, like Patton standing over the battlefield as his tanks obliterated Rommel?s, he's shouting, ?You magnificent bastards, I read your book!? That is just the icing on the cake, but it's wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he's defeating the Left using their own tactics.

That book is Saul Alinsky?s Rules for Radicals ? a book so essential to the Liberals? war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton?s senior thesis. It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump?s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do.

First, instead of going after ?the fake media? ? and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri ? Trump isolated CNN. He made it personal. Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as ?the most powerful weapon of all.?

Everyone gets that it's not just CNN ? in fact, in a world where Al Sharpton and Rachel Maddow, Paul Krugman and Nicholas Kristof are people of influence and whose ?reporting? is in no way significantly different than CNN?s ? CNN is just a piker.

Most importantly, Trump?s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. With Trump?s ability to go around them, they cannot simply stand pat. They need to respond. This leaves them with only two choices.

They can either ?go high? (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery.

The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve. It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive.

Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama?s close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright's, church.

Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration?s weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration?s cover-up.

This makes ?going high? a non-starter for CNN. This leaves them no other option but to ratchet up the fake news, conjuring up the next ?nothing burger? and devoting 24 hours a day to hysterical rants about how it's ?worse than Nixon.?

This, obviously, is what CNN has chosen to do. The problem is that, as they become more and more hysterical, they become more and more obvious. Each new effort at even faker news than before and faker ?outrage? only makes that much more clear to any objective observer that Trump is and always has been right about the fake news media.

And, by causing their hysteria, Trump has forced them into numerous, highly embarrassing and discrediting mistakes. Thus, in their desperation, they have lowered their standards even further and run with articles so clearly fake that, even with the liberal (lower case ?l?) libel laws protecting the media, they've had to wholly retract and erase their stories repeatedly.

Their flailing at Trump has even seen them cross the line into criminality, with CNNusing their vast corporate fortune to hunt down a private citizen for having made fun of them in an Internet meme. This threat to ?dox? ? release of personal information to encourage co-ideologists to visit violence upon him and his family -- a political satirist was chilling in that it clearly wasn?t meant just for him. If it were, there would have been no reason for CNN to have made their ?deal? with him public.

Instead, CNN ? playing by ?Chicago Rules? ? was sending a message to any and all: dissent will not be tolerated.

This heavy-handed and hysterical response to a joke on the Internet has backfired on CNN, giving rise to only more righteous ridicule.

So, to my friends on the Left ? and the #NeverTrumpers as well -- do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be ?collegial? and ?dignified? and ?proper?? Of course I do. These aren't those times. This is war. And it's a war that the Left has been fighting without opposition for the past 50 years.

So, say anything you want about this president ? I get it, he can be vulgar, he can be crude, he can be undignified at times. I don't care. I can't spare this man. He fights.

Good article, and I mostly agree. I'm not sure what the news media said about the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, but I'm not sure they got it wrong.

One of the main weapons of the Left is the demand for politically correct speech. "Politically correct speech" has been defined to build-in agreement with the liberal and Leftist worldview. Thus, consenting to restrict one's language within the confines of political correctness dooms conservatives to political failure. I welcome Donald Trump's refusal to kow-tow to the media obsession for political correctness.

"We Right-thinking people have tried dignity." Lmao, Trumptards muck like the Yam himself really think their special. Carry on Trumptards.

You crooked Hillary loving liberals should not even speak about dignity. If dignity bit you on the A$$ you would not recognize it.

We have a lot of slow movers around here looking for a place to hide . this chit show is blowing up and Trump is proving himself to be exactly the incompetent con man everyone with an IQ over 20 said he was.

The search for anything positive about Trump is on and they'll take it wherever they find it.

Do they not control the house and Senate foreskin? You clowns seem to pull that one repeatedly. If they control it who is stopping trumps agenda? Do I need the big spoon for you?

If you bent wrist liberals want to talk about pardons and commuting of a prison sentence. You should be bashing Obama and not trump.

In January of 2017 Obama commuted the 35 year sentence of Chelsea Manning who was sentenced for disclosure of U.S. secrets to Wilkileaks.
In January of 2017 Obama was bashing Wilkileaks for disclosing the DNC and Hillary Clinton emails and then turns around and commutes Manning's long prison sentence for using Wilkileaks to reveal U.S. secrets. Talk about a double flip flop. Sheriff Joe was a saint compared to what Manning did. Guess what, not one of you bent wrist liberals stood up and complained about it. Your double standard again.

Chelsea Manning to Be Released Early as Obama Commutes Sentence

By CHARLIE SAVAGEJAN. 17, 2017

Chelsea Manning?s 35-year sentence was by far the longest punishment ever imposed in the United States for a leak conviction. Credit United States Army

WASHINGTON ? President Obama on Tuesday commuted all but four months of the remaining prison sentence of Chelsea Manning, the Army intelligence analyst convicted of a 2010 leak that revealed American military and diplomatic activities across the world, disrupted Mr. Obama?s administration and brought global prominence to WikiLeaks, the recipient of those disclosures.

The decision by Mr. Obama rescued Ms. Manning, who twice tried to kill herself last year, from an uncertain future as a transgender woman incarcerated at the men?s military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. She has been jailed for nearly seven years, and her 35-year sentence was by far the longest punishment ever imposed in the United States for a leak conviction.

DW I don't speak Stupid, RELH can you translate what he is saying? Who is they? Are you saying McCain and Graham control both houses of the Congress? Or are you saying the Republicans control both houses of the Congress?

Help us out RELH, is he saying the Obamcare Straight Repeal did not pass because both McCain and Graham did not vote for it when it was only McCain along with Sens. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.; Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.; Susan Collins, R-Maine; Dean Heller, R-Nev.; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; and Rob Portman, R-Ohio?

Or is Dimwit saying that McCain and Graham voted against the Obamacare Skinny Repeal? When in fact it was McCain, Murkowski and Collins?

Obama, Clinton, Manning, are there any other Democrats like Kennedy, Johnson, Mondale, maybe Dukakis that you want to talk about to deflect conversation away from your Glory Hole brother?

I like the liberal slant of avoiding the issue of Obama doing a double flip flop with Wilikleaks and Chelsea Manning. What is the matter you two faced liberal, can not accept the fact your hero was a con man and liar of the first order. Only a complete liberal idiot like you would support Obama after all the information that has came out concerning his deceitful crooked administration. Says a lot about your own personal standards.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-01-17 AT 00:08AM (MST)[p]I know you are fluent in Stupid RELH, but if you would like to re-hash Manning's commuted sentence unlike you I will address it. Afterwards you can let us all know what DimWit is talking about.

So what about Manning's commuted sentence? Would you like to talk about the presiding Judge Colonel Lind who found Manning not guilty of Aiding the Enemy? Would you like to talk about the fact that most highly classified documents that Manning leaked were the 2nd to lowest security classification of "Secret" and the rest were marked "unclassified but sensitive"? Or we could discuss the fact that the final damage report conducted by military intelligence officials concluded that Manning?s leaks caused no great harm to U.S. national security.

If you want to get technical let's look at the regulations for military incarceration. Army Regulation 15-130, which deals with Clemencies and Paroles, contains a passage, in Section 3-2.a(4), which states that the Army Clemency and Parole Board may consider a prisoner?s ?psychological profile? and ?medical condition,? including his or her ?need for specialized treatment.? Manning?s profile, including her need for hormone treatments, also a consideration.

Manning suffered from depression and gender identity disorder before enlisting and after 6 weeks in basic was sent to a discharge unit. Desperate for bodies at the time with lowered entrance standards Manning's discharge was revoked. Because of Manning's mental issues she was sent to an Army's Mental Health Counselor in 2009.

Two of Manning's superiors had discussed not taking her to Iraq as they felt she was a risk to herself and possibly others, according to a statement later issued by the Army, but once again the shortage of intelligence analysts dictated their decision to take her.

Pvt. Manning never fought any of the charges and instantly plead Guilty.

Let's see..how long was Manning incarcerated, oh yeah 7 years. While Manning's sentence was 35 year it offered parole after 10 years.

Would you like to talk about that 85 year old criminal and POS Joe Arpaio next because I certainly have a few choice words about him. Trying to compare his Pardon and Manning commuted sentence is so intellectually dishonest it really shows your reliance on Faux News to carry an idiotic narrative.

So...now that we have re-hashed this dead horse distraction please translate what DW meant.

I will let DW translate his own post since I do not have the gall or right to speak for him.
Manning was a screwed up transgender, maybe something you might find solace in covering up his/her criminal acts. The fact he used Wilikleaks which Obama blamed everything on and then turn around and commute Manning's sentence is counter productive any way you look at it. You just can not admit you were stupid enough to support a liar and con man twice and now you compound it more by still supporting him.

Sheriff Joe did not sell out the U.S. like Manning did, he only enforced the immigration laws while Obama's administration was fully against sheriff's Joe's enforcement. In fact it was Obama and his cohorts that failed to uphold our federal laws and you still support that racist liar.

You are no better then the racist con man you support and the crooked deceitful Democrats in the DNC that threw an American election. What is your goal for this country. A dictator as long as it has a "D" in front of it's name?

RELH

I give a shyt who gets pardoned or their sentence commuted. That power rests with the President as the Constitution states. It is the sole purview of the POTUS to wield this power as they see fit, there is zero in the Constitution directing how any president decides to grant pardons and commutations.

What is interesting is that the Trump cheering squad doesn't seem to understand that when you start with less than a majority of voters and work hard to alienate more voters, you don't get your way. Politics is all about the art of the possible and an unpopular president doesn't strike fear into congressmen and women like a popular one does.

Yeah, Trump fights but he almost always picks the wrong battles, fights in the wrong way and snatches defeat from the jaws of victory by a stupid comment, tweet or statement. To be an effective fighter in politics you need allies and Trump doesn't much care about reliable allies, he craps on his most ardent supporters, like Jeff Sessions. It does no good to fight if you always pick the wrong fight.

If all is going terrific think about this. The economy is in decent shape, jobs growth is still positive and the stock market is at a record, any other president would be seeing their poll numbers move into positive territory regardless of party. Instead no bueno
