I'm not donating a penny screw the texicans . they believe in Trump and Ted Cruz but not climate change so let them figure it out on their own. but I never said I would donate, that's about the only difference between Trump and I on this matter.

Dude most people are not black hearted like you are. My family has been giving to the Salvation Army for years and other groups that help out needy children in our area.

Also our tax advisor advises us that we need the write offs to avoid paying more taxes.

I will not donate to the American Red Cross as they have proven in the past not to use all the money in the disaster zone like they said they would. They also short change our veterans at times.

You never need donations for write offs . even if you're paying 50% taxes it leaves you 50% poorer in the end. pretty easy math really.

Nobody knows how deductions work better than I do. I live for them.

Maybe this is over your head let me explain. for easy math let's say you're in the 50% tax bracket. in your case let's say you donate $100 to the log cabin republicans, you do not pay any taxes on that $100 so you saved $50 in taxes. but the other $50 was your post tax money and you just gave it away. you're $50 poorer than you would have been had you made no donation.

Get a new accountant .

I do make donations to things that matter to me. texicans are not one of them.

Dude are you forgetting that the donation may be sufficient to drop you a tax bracket if of sufficient amount on gross income that was just over the amount to move you up a tax bracket for federal or state taxes.

Only the amount over the bracket limit into the next bracket is taxable at the higher rate. so nothing changes.
