Without even checking, I bet that CA. state Senator Kevin de Leon sponsored the bill or at least was a big supporter of it. He is the state senator that said if they deported illegal immigrants, they would be deporting some of his relatives.
He is behind most of the anti gun laws in this state. There is a rumor he may challenge Diane Finestein for a run for U.S. Senator. The progressive liberals here feel she is not liberal enough for them. Kevin de Leon is liberal enough.
