Which is worse? The Galveston hurricane of 1900, before global warming, that killed between 6000 and 12000 souls, or Irma that killed 5-6 people?

Everyone know's irma was the biggest baddest hurricane in the history of earth! Yahoo told me so!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-13-17 AT 10:29AM (MST)[p]Because people in 1900 had the same means to see the storm coming, be warned on TV, Radio, or smart phone every 2 minutes, had a interstate Highway system to leave via a motor vehicle to get out of the way and had people in the redneck navy with hundreds of boats available to rescue them. Sure Irma and that storm in 1900 were exactly the same.

Comparing apples to jack rabbits is a useless exercise.

What a crock, sounds like apples to apples to me on the intensity of the storm.

Well of course it sounds the same to you because you don't give a shyt about the truth or facts.

What you dumbphucks are really saying is thank you to the government for 1. Building a network of roads, 2. Funding the National Weather Service, 3. paying for Satellites, 4. requiring strong buildings, 5. Paying for storm shelters 6. Putting troops with the right equipment in there, 7. Paying for all the FEMA help. All those things led to fewer lives lost and less damage and quicker recovery, stupid government.

It is a stupid comparison that is meaningless. I don't buy climate change is the only reason for thing like Hurricane Irma, I don't buy that we can do much to change the temps. I don't want to stop burning gasoline, heating my home with Natural Gas, or buring fuel in my boat. So I don't really give two shyts about it. I do know comparing the number killed by such an event in 1900 to today is stupid. I guess I shouldn't expect anything but Stupid from Trump voters.

Try to keep up 264 the pace of discussion to fast for an idiot +1er. Try adding even a little bit to the discussion instead of just being the dunce.

"broke a bunch of records" means

If I started recording the temperature at my house one year ago and the temperature was 85, and then today it was 86, I could say we broke a record.

"Irma sustained 185-mph winds for 37 hours, the longest any cyclone on the globe has maintained that intensity."

Meaningless in a 7 billion year history....unless you have an agenda.

Eel you are using good old common sense. Do not expect our onboard liberals to use something that they do not have.

A. The Galveston Hurricane of 1900.

It is interesting to note what transpired after the 1900 event. The 1900 event entailed a Category 4 with winds speeds of 145 mph and a 15 ft storm surge. In 1915 another Category 4 Hurricane hit the town with wind speeds of 135 mph and a 21 ft storm surge but only 11 lives were lost within the town of Galveston.

What changed and why?

They "BUILT THAT WALL!"

"What changed and why?"

We became more aware of hurricanes and how better to plan building and construction to withstand them. We also obtained the ability to predict when and where a hurricane would hit allowing people to evacuate or hunker down.

Science and technology are wonderful things, except when politicians and other interest groups decide to use it to influence an agenda. Especially when that agenda is to punish America and to weaken our economy for the purpose of wealth redistribution, or to enrich a certain segment of people.

Stooges? You shouldn't call yourself, elkass and RELH stooges. You all are dumb for supporting Trump, the liberal deal maker, but calling you three stooges is not very nice.

Liars gonna lie, I expect nothing more from your ilk. Be specific on how I am dependent on subsidized Obama Health Care. Obamacare could end today and I would not miss a beat.

Show me or just admit you are an @ssclown pretending to be a hunter on a hunting site.

Ever hear of the Boone & Crockett Club? it's something real sportsmen and conservationists all know about. I posted you their stand on climate change.

Here, this has some pictures maybe you can follow it better with visual aids.
