So far I have stayed out of this debate-argument. My feelings are I would prefer to give up the bump-stocks instead of the rifles as the Democrats would just love to ban.
I think the GOP is going to have to support banning the bump-stocks to appease the public and the liberal Democrats that would love to go further with it.
Will it cure the problem? No it will not, as Bess pointed out the finger can do some very rapid fire and be as effective, or more effective then a bump-stock. Only problem is the average Joe or Jill on the street do not know that and would feel safer if the bump-stocks were banned.
Those 100 dollar bump-stocks will become 1,000 dollar items on the black market.

Fuk no! The 2nd amendment has been worn down since the day it was written! The goals and intent of the left will be accomplished over a long period of time due in part to the blindness and naivete of the likes of you! You bang the table about the debt we're leaving our kids while you fit them for the yoke of tyranny! Look around at the countries who've succumbed to gun control. It doesn't happen all at once, it's like water on a rock, it wears a hole clean thru it over time. Nemont your hatred of the NRA has blinded you. If the NRA had not been there all these years we would have lost a lot of more firearm rights.
You can believe what you want in your little world in Montana, but the NRA has greatly assisted the CA. Rifle and Pistol Assc. in rolling back some very restrictive liberal gun laws here.
You and your local state gun rights organizations are not big enough to fight for gun rights on the national level and was not capable of helping other states.
I am having a hard time believing you as a gun owner. I can understand not always agreeing with every policy of the NRA, because I myself do not adhere to every policy they push, but you have gone too far in your hatred of the NRA and are at the point of being more help to the anti gunners who want total confiscation of firearms.

So how exactly does being able to own a bump stock improve my children's chances of maintaining their freedom from tyranny? Why is that our infantrymen and Marines don't use their personal weapon on full auto in 99% of the combat situations they find themselves in?
If our future freedom can only be maintained with an AR in the closet then you and the NRA have already lost. In case you don't get it the government has you outgunned by a factor of a million to one or more. One mounted infantry squad in an armored unit has more fire power than all the guns and ammo you could acquire.

The NRA works for the manufacturers not the members. the members are too stupid to understand the interest of gun owners and manufacturers are not always aligned.
