The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee claims he obtained a ?smoking gun? email that proves the Obama Justice Department prevented settlement payouts from going to conservative-leaning organizations, even as liberal groups were awarded money and DOJ officials denied ?picking and choosing? recipients.

Looks like Lois Lerner will be coming back to testify to the judiciary committee. Sooner or later, if handled right one of those Federal employees will give up the information leading higher up the ladder. Give her a choice of talking or going to prison and losing her retirement may cause a case of loose lips.

So are the actions alleged criminal in nature or to the winner goes the spoil type of thing? It is a terrible practice to allow settlement money to anywhere but the Treasury but that doesn't make Holder's actions criminal or illegal. Perhaps it is unseemly but if that is the standard then the talking Yam is worse than anyone on acting unseemly.

Nemont I do not plan to search the federal criminal code to ascertain if Holder's action were criminal in nature.
At the very least this points the finger at the Obama administration and nails another nail into the fact they were one of the most corrupt administration we had to endure for the past 8 years.
Obama and company make Tricky D!ck Nixon look like a saint when it comes to deceit and outright corruption.

Nemont, sometimes public opinion is more powerful then tossing someone in jail. This is just another example of corruption or dirty dealing that will add to more fence sitters turning away from the Democrats. More voters will find it harder to believe anything a Democrat may say in the future.

Let's put it this way, after 8 years of Obama and his administration, do you think that another black American can run today and win the white house.

The Democrats started this game plan and now I bet a lot of them are regretting it as it has boomerang on them. It seems the Republicans have changed their strategy in midstride and fighting back to the dismay of the Democrats.

The Trump administration, after years of litigation, has settled lawsuits with Tea Party and other conservative groups who say they were unfairly targeted by the IRS under the Obama administration.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced early Thursday that the Justice Department had entered into settlements with Tea Party groups whose tax-exempt status was significantly delayed by the IRS dating back to 2013, ?based solely on their viewpoint or ideology.?

The settlements involve payments to the plaintiffs and an apology from the IRS.

The targeting scandal drew heavy attention in 2013 when the IRS admitted it applied extra scrutiny to conservative groups applying for nonprofit status. Lois Lerner, then head of the Exempt Organizations unit responsible, became the public face of the scandal, though other IRS officials were involved as well.

Sessions said that groups with names involving ?Tea Party? or ?Patriots,? or those with specific policy positions concerning government spending, were subject to ?inappropriate criteria? to ?screen? applications.
