THE ME-ME GENERATION.

Nearly half of all U.S. millennials believe the greatest safe space of them all would be living under a socialist regime.

That's according to a new study from research firm YouGov and Washington, D.C.-based Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, which surveyed over 2,000 people regarding their views on socialism and the communist political system. The biggest takeaway from the study was that one out of every two millennials surveyed said they would rather live in a socialist or communist country over a capitalist democracy like the U.S.

?Millennials now make up the largest generation in America, and we're seeing some deeply worrisome trends," Marion Smith, executive director of the foundation said in a statement to Fox News. "Millennials are increasingly turning away from capitalism and toward socialism and even communism as a viable alternative.?

Nearly 45 percent of millennials polled said that they would prefer to live in a socialist country compared to the 42 percent who said they preferred a capitalist one. Another 7 percent said that the preferred living in a communist country above all. The findings show that the percentage of millennials who prefer socialism over capitalism is a full 10 points higher than that of the general population.

I have always felt that when this country falls, it will fall because of it's own citizens. I blame the left leaning liberal parents for this ME-ME generation that would prefer to live under a socialist goverament that would provide for them from cradle to grave.
They have a better chance of higher education then generations before them, and they have the common sense of a DoDo bird. I also blame this trend on the left wing liberals we have in our education system. I hope their parents and teachers are proud of what they brought into this world.

Given the fact old timers like yourself elected someone like Trump I'd say it's time for this nation to turn the page.

Nobody knows me-me-me like the baby boomers. I fail to see how it can get any worse.

That's a scary thought from my generation. I'll take capitalism every time. Socialism has not ever worked or ever will.

The boomers were forced to pay into it for 40+ years so they had to earn as much money as they could. Then Obama made sure they couldn't find a doctor when the time came.

All a millennial has to do is make sure he doesn't earn enough money so he gets a free ride.

Oh, it's going to get worse.

If that's what it takes to get hate monger racists and retarded narcissists out of power I say bring it on.

A minority has never ruled for long. and the bulk of that minority are old white guys who are dying off. enjoy your brief rule it will be your last.

Still, Gibney, a venture capitalist, argues there is something inherently different about the boomers from the generations that preceded them and those that followed: a sense of entitlement that comes from growing up in a time of economic prosperity.

Before the baby boomers came around, the so-called Greatest Generation came of age in a time of war and depression and learned firsthand the benefits of social solidarity and so they continued to invest in society throughout their lives, Gibney said. Younger Generation X and the millennials have suffered through the dot-com crash, great recession and other economic woes. ?I don't think that people much under 40 believe that prosperity is automatic anymore,? Gibney said.

That would be the opinion of a LIBERAL generation X person who raised the ME-ME generation and unwilling to accept that they raised a generation of lazy idiots with no work ethics.

Yeah that's right the boomers inherited the largest economic expansion in the history of the world. In turn they are going to turn over a country that has went from the largest creditor nation to the largest debtor nation on their watch. After three boomer presidents the debt went from $3.36 Trillion in 1991 to $19.5 Trillion in Jan. of 2017.

Debt went from 58% of the economy to 105% under boomer leadership. The Gen Xers and Gen Yers and millennials only get the bills not the benefits of what the boomers leave behind.

If the Gen Xers are lazy then the boomers are down right evil in what they are leaving their grand children but I doubt boomers lose any sleep about that. Way easier to say how bad the youth are while throwing them into debt prison. Like I said nobody can hate like a boomer.

And what does this generation have to show for its quarter-century of leadership?

Boomers inherited the sole superpower after the Greatest Generation won the Cold War ? and squandered U.S. influence with two long and inconclusive wars.

They gave us the financial collapse of 2008, the worst economy since the Great Depression, a crushing federal debt and worse inequality. They devoured fossil fuels and did little about global warming while allowing infrastructure and research to deteriorate. They expanded entitlement programs and are now poised to bankrupt those programs. Their leadership has led to declining confidence in religion, the presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court, banks and big business, schools, the media and the police. They may leave their children (the millennials) worse off than they were.

Boomers, coddled in their youth, grew up selfish and unyielding. When they got power, they created polarization and gridlock from both sides. Though Vietnam War-protesting boomers got the attention, their peers on the right were just as ideological, creating the religious right. Trump captures his generation?s selfishness: his multiple draft deferrals, his claim that he's ?made a lot of sacrifices? by erecting buildings, his vow to have huge tax cuts and massive military investments.

Like I said nobody hates like the boomers. Look at the record boomer presidents.

I can't help that boomers feel like their kids and grand kids don't have a work ethic. Boomers raised them and now don't like how they turned out. Should have instilled a work ethic or better not have stolen all their future labor through a crushing federal debt.

My kids worked their way though college while raising a family. Both have good paying jobs and a bright future. I wonder if your kids did the same, or was given everything by mommy and daddy.

RELH

That is weak even for retired government pensioner. My kids weren't handed anything except an intact family, a work ethic and the support needed to get ahead.

All three of them will be successful if they stay on their current paths. All of them are employed in professional careers and are the kind of people anyone would be proud to call their own.

I get it you are a typical government employee who hates success of others who took a different path. Remember your retirement fund and hardon pills are both guaranteed by taxpayers. At some point you should thank a millennial or two.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-08-17 AT 00:58AM (MST)[p]I'm glad to hear that you were a parent that taught your kids good hard work ethics along with a good education. So many of the X-generation and even boomer generation failed to be good parents.
Because of that failure is the reason we have a majority of Me-Me generation that prefer a outright socialist government to take care of them since they have doubts about themselves. The hippies from my generation were the worse at being responsible parents and teaching their kids good ethics.
As for my retirement, I paid half of it during 30 years, the county I worked for paid the other half instead of giving pay raises.
