There was a rime when being a republican wasn't something to be ashamed of . I voted party line until 2004 . I haven't changed at all but my party has gone totally to dog chit.

Then he went on to lose to Clinton who instigated the Great Recession. All you did for 16 years was bash the younger Bush so I really don't see your point. Why are their thoughts and opinions suddenly valuable? Is it because it fits what's in your head?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-05-17 AT 10:27AM (MST)[p]The fact is the republican party has been going downhill for years, Trump just pulled the rug put from under it and it will either cease to exist or become a side show for a selection of creeps too small to exert power.

Trump did not win the majority vote, and he didn't even win on the republican vote. he won on a small number of independent votes who have now turned on him.

So it's very logical to say the Bush's were the last republicans. and the republicans who don't approve of Trump are the last republican voters. count me in that demographic, where we go from here is unclear.

For the record I voted for Reagan both times, HW Bush and for GW Bush the first time he ran. The Iraq war was unforgivable and 2004 was my first time not voting Republican in a national election.

No. I would have voted for McCain had he chosen a VP that isn't only a tiny bit smarter than Trump.

The republican party is going down like a turd in a well. even as useless as they've been the last 15 years they were somewhat of a check on the democrats. so once the hogs are done eating the remains of the GOP the libs will be unchecked. that itself is not something anyone should wish for. hopefully a credible alternative to the DNC will arise from ashes or we're screwed .

Maybe the Republican party is on a downhill slide, but the Democrat party has already hit rock bottom and this last election showed that in spades.
