Let me put this out there first.

The election, the government (congress & executive branch both) has been a media side show to say the least.
Both sides of the isle. From scandals with Obama & Hillary with Uranium, abuse scandals, and a worn out twitter account by the president. Personally I think the entire machine is a money pit swamp. It is also a fact that that 99% of the mainstream media is so far left that they have lost focus of news & policy, they are just digging for the next B.S. scandal. On the other side, the Right radio shows spend more time arguing B.S. left wing media stories. Both have lost site of policy. Well, except Mark Levin.... I like that guy.

I am curious what the take is from sportsman. What policies are supported, and I need someone to explain the tax bill to me.

Do you support building a wall? I didn't ask if you thought it would get done or not, but do you support it.

Do you support eliminating visa lottery program?
Do you support the tax bill? (also if someone can give me a simple explanation... 50,000 = X% tax bracket, 100K = X% tax bracket, etc.)
Do you support an AR ban?

in certain places a wall would be the right thing to build but it has become a political talking point.

Why eliminate it if Trump claims his extreme vetting would work?

Once the senate is done writing their version it would be more useful to discuss what it actually does but the House Bill is a turd because it increases the debt dramatically.

When has banning things ever worked? The Horse is out of the barn at this point, there are enough AR's and parts to last two lifetimes in this country. We could address other issues but they are off limits because the NRA has a scorched earth policy on any discussion involving guns.

Good post rubble. Here's my opinion.

1) American politics is in the toilet. We have the democrat party that is now the socialist/communist party and the establishment republicans not far off. Money & power mangers is all they are. None give two shuts about the people or the country.

2) building a wall is a waste of time and money. Enforce tougher immigration laws and cut off the freebies. They will self deport when there is nothing here for them without legal documentation to work or live.

3) visa lottery is more political correct left wing bs. Bye bye

4) tax bill is bs and nothing more than a game of 3 card Monty. A flat tax and getting rid of politicians use of the tax code for political and financial gain is the only rational idea.

5) just thought I would add to 4 that we also have to get a hold on the runaway size and scope of govt at all levels and the pissing away of our money to record debts. The lefts movement towards centralized govt will be a disaster all the way around.

5) I don't support an AR ban because it accomplishes no more than a good check & database law would do. Could be a feel good knee jerk law that could be the start of a snowball that would do gun owners & sportsmen in. Liberty is like money in your wallet. You keep spending it a little at a time and pretty soon it's all gone.

My positions

I 'm for controlling U.S. borders the building of the wall is Dotards speaking point to his followers that tend to have less ability to understand technological means available to control the borders. Build a wall in certain areas where it's needed but building it the entire border I a waste of money.

I have no problem with ending the visa lottery program, but come up with something better so far the hard work of fixing something instead of just tearing it down has alluded Dotard.

The tax bill I understand as well as many which means I don't understand it well. The House and Senate bills are different and at this point I don't think either is the answer. I'm not for a tax cut even my own for increasing the debt.

I just counted I have 32 guns in my gun safe not one is an AR. I don't think a ban will eliminate any of the violence now occurring however I do think it will help with public perception. Guys like me that hunt and shoot a lot in different states don't have a lot in common with trailer house Bubba with his make him feel good Rambo gun. I don't want to be perceived by the majority of citizens who will ultimately make the push for more control as standing with Rambo Bubba. I know some guys use AR's to hunt, shoot better and you won't need the bump stock or semi-auto of the AR.

I have a lot less bad to say about the media on here than most. I don't believe they are 99% liberal as you state. I believe the press will ultimately tie Dotard to collusion and show treasonous behavior that threatens the republic. The press is needed both parties will not always do what is best for the country the minimization of the press by Dotard and his followers are a threat to the country. In my opinion the present administration is the most dishonest in modern times. The press has always dug for the next scandal as they should look at the muckrakers.

Finally I don't have time to argue this for awhile I have to process a deer today and then hunt in between work this week and state football playoffs. A frequent poster RELH, DW, Forkie will explain why this is inaccurate thinking and +1 or 264 mag will come on and the cycle of MM will repeat itself.

Have a good day!
