Firearm seizures may be coming.

Senate Democrats pushed nine different gun controls during the past six weeks, and ABC News has now emerged with a tenth gun law which they suggest may be the ringer.
That law would legalize firearm confiscation orders like those in Washington state. Such orders allow a judge to issue an ex parte order for the confiscation of an American?s firearms. This means the order can be issued without the firearm owner even being present for the process. His or her first knowledge of the order would come when police knocked on their door to sweep the house for firearms.

According to ABC News, the orders are supported by Sandy Hook Promise, the gun control group to which Tim McGraw donated concert proceeds in July 2015. The firearm confiscation orders are also supported by Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety.

In fact, ABC News reported that Everytown claims ?4,500 Americans died due to gun violence in August? of this year. This claim is misleading in a number of ways.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-17 AT 07:32AM (MST)[p]You sheep need to stop listening to the lunatic fringe. They are leading you by the nose down a fake news path.

Breitbart is as fake of news as CNN.

http://www.wnd.com/2014/01/americans-warned-gun-confiscation-coming/

What the fake conservatives who outsourced their brains don't understand is that the Senate calendar is available. You should check it and see if what your fake conservative media claims is actually true or not.

Don't believe any media, go look for the facts yourself. The world isn't out to get you and the lunatic fringe has been saying "gun confiscation is coming" for at least 70 years. Yet there are more guns then ever.

You better buy another NRA mesh trucker hat, ole Wayne really really means it this time about gun confiscation, that last 50 times were just fund raising schemes.

If you fakes had not put the House and Senate majorities in jeopardy by your choices it wouldn't even be a concern, would it?

Dude if you and Nemont do not think this coming, both of you have your heads in the sand or your bottom orifice. As for you Dude, do not tick off your wife as she could get even with you by claiming in a protection order that you threaten her with a gun. Washington did this first, then Oregon and now CA. politicians are talking about it. You can bet that Democrat Senators will be looking at it also.
I am all for keeping guns away from mental cases and violent persons, but the way this is done your guns are seized without due process, then it is up to you to prove the reason for the seizure was wrong.

Brown, a Democrat, signed the measure into law this week after it squeaked through the legislature. (Photo: Gov. Brown?s office)

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Wednesday approved Democrat-backed gun control legislation to establish Extreme Risk Protection Orders, forcing subjects to surrender their firearms.

The law, SB 719A, allows police, or a member of a subject's family or household, to file a petition with the court which could lead to an order prohibiting firearms possession if it is believed they pose an imminent risk to themselves or others. The bill passed the Senate 17-11 in May and the House 31-28 last month, picking up only one Republican supporter along the way.

Brown, a Democrat, signed the bill without comment this week but in remarks to lawmakers during the legislative process she called Extreme Risk Protection Orders the ?best way to ensure that a person who is at risk of harming themselves or others is identified, while still ensuring their rights are protected by a court review.?

The new law will establish a process for obtaining an order issued by a judge in a civil court prohibiting the subject from possessing or buying firearms or ammo for one year. It grants police enforcing such orders the power to search for and seize guns that were not surrendered or stored with a third party such as a gun dealer. The subject of the order has 30 days to request a hearing to keep their firearms, which must be held within 21 days.

Those filing fake orders could be imprisoned for up to a year, or pay a fine of up to $6,250, or both.

The law was modeled on one adopted after a ballot referendum last fall in neighboring Washington following a $3.5 million push by gun control groups, which in turn was based on a 2014 California law.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-17 AT 02:13PM (MST)[p]So what you are saying is we shouldn't trust the courts and police to do the right thing when it comes to Extreme Risk Protection Orders.

Makes sense.

Fox fools don't believe in Factcheck.org or snopes.com.

Dotard can save us from this horror he said so, it must be true.

He also said he's the most popular president ever overseas that is just as believable.

Every couple of months, usually when payroll is coming due, the NRA announces that gun confiscation is about to start and the money pours into their coffers. Weird that otherwise intelligent people fall for this over and over and over and over. Ole Wayne is laughing all the way to his Cayman Island hide away.

There you go again Nemont. I never said anything about not trusting the courts or law enforcement doing their job. What I do not trust is the person who will approach the courts and lie in order to get back at the person with the guns for revenge. As a law enforcement member for 30 years I have seen many cases of this. The majority of the time it involves a woman trying to get even with a husband or boyfriend over a breakup.
Oregon only made the penalty for making a false report a misdemeanor. That is not severe enough to make someone think twice about making a false report for reasons of revenge.

So you, Roy Moore and Bill and Hillary all believe women are liars. That figures.

It sounds like the clown in TX who shot the church up might have had some problems with the OR law. that's a bad thing ?

I'm not crazy about the new law but I really don't give a FF one way or another. I'll leave it to the NRA and the batchits to fret about.

Dude you are one of those guys who do not give a damn, until it is used on you and you will scream to high heaven and want help. Help will not be coming. Can you imagine the cops coming in and taking all those precious pre-64 model 70s and tossing them into the back of a van and stacking them into the evidence room. You just might have a heart attack. Like I said do not ever p!ss your wife off like you do others on here or you may get to see your precious guns get treated like Saturday night specials.

Just to be on the safe side....every once in a while report one of your guns as stolen. They can't confiscate what you don't have. You can still sell it to another patriotic American who doesn't want or need it registered.

97172deliverancebanjo.jpg

What is weird is that I can sell a gun to anyone here and there is zero paperwork required. Nothing but greenbacks changing hands and nobody checks on anyone.

Nemont

Read up on what the liberals call universal background checks. To them that means any sale of a firearm private or dealer must be registered. They also don't allow you to loan your guns to your family members if I recall correctly. That means registration and fees for all. If they get their way you won't be ale to sell your guns on a website like this one any longer. Go to dealer or FFA holder, pay fees and register the sale.

You can't find a shipper who'll ship a gun unless it's going to the registered owner or an FFL dealer. it's the law since 1968. nothing has changed.

As for private cash sales it happens here every day. but you can't advertise unless you're an FFL dealer.

90% of my guns are not registered in my name. many of them were built before 1968 and not registered to anyone. and nobody is going to come after them anyway so I really cannot imagine how I could care less.

Yawn...

I was driving down a FS road during deer season and a buck crossed the road in front of me. I found a wide spot, pulled over, grabbed my rifle took off to try to locate him. I was gone for about 1/2 hour. When I got back to the truck my handgun was gone. Damn the luck. Being a good citizen I reported it, of course.

So you admit filing a false police report, faking a robbery and then lying about it? Sounds about right. Does every Trumpteer have a broken moral compass or just the ones on here?

Too bad we can arrange that to happen. I would pay money to watch it.

You would like that wouldn't you I'm sure you'd bend the knee if they came to your house. Didn't you take an oath to defend against all enemies foreign or domestic. By the sounds of you it'll go right out the window.

After your peach fuzz falls off and you go a few more trips around the sun you will realize that the biggest talkers about what they think they would do, usually are the first to p!ss their pants.

I took an oath, you never did and never will. If you have never had business end of a weapon pointed at you, then you are clueless how you would react. I suspect you, being a coward chickenhawk utard, would grab your vagina and cry like the little girl you are.

Chicken hawk you are poor excuse even for a Utard. I was a 12B. If you hadn't of hid in the corner in 2006 during the surge in Iraq when you were 19 you might know what that MOS does. Of course the oath to protect this country means nothing to you. You never sacrificed a single second of service. I expect nothing less from a yellow coward Like you. Almost 3 million troops have serve in your generation?s war that started in 2001 and not once did your sorry a$$ answer the call.
