A federal judge Thursday denied a request by Fusion GPS to void a House Intelligence Committee subpoena to provide bank records as part of the committee?s investigation into Russian activities during the 2016 election campaign.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon found Fusion's objections to the subpoena to be "unavailing" and denied the research firm's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction that would have prevented it from handing over the documents.

Fusion GPS attorney Theodore Boutrous Jr. said the firm would appeal Leon's ruling.

"Instead of focusing its efforts on Russian meddling in the presidential election, the Committee continues to misuse its investigatory power to punish and smear Fusion GPS for its role in uncovering troubling ties between #Russia and the Trump campaign," Boutrous said in a statement.

The committee, chaired by Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., had subpoenaed the records in an effort to determine who paid for a now-infamous "dossier" outlining various claims about President Donald Trump's connections with various Russian officials. The dossier, commissioned by Fusion GPS and compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, was published in full by BuzzFeed in January of last year.

Among a number of unconfirmed allegations about Trump and his associates, the dossier included sordid claims about the president's sexual proclivities.

Would be very interesting if their bank records shows payments by Clinton and DNC and outgoing payments to British spy Steel for his dossier. They appear to not want anyone to know about payments received and spent from particular parties.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-06-18 AT 01:44PM (MST)[p]Yes..so interesting, so very interesting. Or not.

For starters Rep. RELH Nunes will probably be going to jail. Leon was Bush's gun for hire and a highly partisan appointee. Let's see if Leon rules on publicly exposing members of the PACs that have employed Fusion.

Nunes is working with Leon to leave Fusion defunct. It means nothing, Fusion is one of many Oppo companies.

Even the most intellectually challenged already know from what has been disclosed who originally contracted and funded the research with Fusion. Because you get your spoon fed news from Faux, this must be a mystery to you.

Well...the next logical question would be who runs the Washington Free Bacon?

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/washington-free-beacon/

WFB is financed by the Center for American Freedom. Who are they?

Those Board Members and staff at CAF certainly know who paid for the initial oppo research on Trump. It was fox contributor and the editor of the Weekly Standard and repeatedly proven political idiot Bill Kristol.

After Trump won the primary, Kristol dropped out with Fusion and Perkins Coie picked up the contract. Perkins Coie is a law firm that works as a 3rd party conduit for democratic campaigns. Specifically Marc Elias a lawyer at the firm then picked up the contract on behalf of the DNC/Clinton campaign.

Unlike secretly meeting directly with Kremlin officials, it is common practice for oppo research to be contracted through political law firms and be paid by PACs for either side of the aisle.

Hiring Fusion whether it be Bill Kristol, Marc Elias, or whoever is not illegal, as a matter fact it is a standard operating practice. Fusion is just one of many oppo research firms usually employing ex-spooks and being a known vendor or choice for research with connections to K street.

So when it pertains to Trump and the Russia Dossier, we already know who the players are, well at least those of us who do not watch Faux already know.

Steele is a researcher, no more no less, what information he uncovered was presented to a client, what the client does with that information is their business.

Mueller cut this sideshow off at the legs after stating that the investigation never hinged on the Russia Dossier, it started when Popodop shot his mouth wife pounding drinks one night.

But keep holding tight as each claim from the Dossier is being proven true only lending credence to the credibility of Fusion's 7 years in the oppo research business.

The only thing that Leon/Nunes will produce is attempting to demonize Fusion for the Russia Dossier and putting them out of business. Problem is..it's about a year too late.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-06-18 AT 07:30PM (MST)[p]FTW only a total liberal fraud like would come to the defense of a corrupt democrat party that tried to buy an American presidential election. They were the real ones in collusion with the Russians trying to get dirt on the other parties candidate and not caring if the information was false or fact, as long as it was detrimental to aid their cause.
You have the morals of a alley cat and you and Hillary see eye to eye as crooked closet buddies. I hope you are proud of yourself and your ideology. Now crawl back into your snake hole.

Fusion GPS initially received funding from the Washington Free Beacon, and then was paid by Hillary Clinton?s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee for the dossier that Steele produced.

The New York Times first reported that Grassley and Graham ?had reason to believe that a former British spy, Christopher Steele, lied to federal authorities about his contacts with reporters regarding information in the dossier, and they urged the (Justice) department to investigate.?

The news organizations that have devoted so much attention to the Steele dossier ? the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, you get the idea ? inflated its importance to such a disproportionate extent that they became active participants in Russia?s effort to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Back in the fall and winter of 2016 the media even reported that the dossier was providing the FBI with a ?roadmap? for its investigation of alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

But now it's clear that the dossier was nothing more than an expensive political dirty trick by the Russians, the Democratic Party and Clinton campaign.

The media are now trying to change their story about why they blew the dossier up beyond all proportion ? a classic case of making a mountain out of a molehill. We can't allow that to happen. The media failed the American people and they must be held accountable.

Recall that back in the October 2016 the New York Times and Politico breathlessly reported that then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., sent a letter a FBI director James Comey. In it Reid claimed that he was aware that Comey held ?explosive information? about close ties between the Russians and the Trump campaign.

Reid was referring to the Steele dossier. How did Reid know about this dossier? A couple of ways. First, then-CIA director John Brennan briefed him on the matter. Second, a reporter friendly to the Clinton campaign ? David Corn of Mother Jones ? had already been reporting on the dossier, despite the now rewritten history that the dossier was first published by BuzzFeed in January 2017.

The DNC was functionally bankrupt and was being kept afloat by the Clinton according to Donna Brazille. So they are one and the same.

The real and only question is, was the dossier grounds for the FISA warrant? Interesting that seems to be the ONLY thing NOT leaked. My bet, yes. Which means Clinton tried to overthrow an election. Most likely why the only thing to come out is a process crime after a year.

Mueller isn't stupid. He knows he's up to his azz in Uranium sells, he's gonna chip around(Scooter Libby), but he won't sacrifice himself for Clinton.
