Anybody want to talk about this? Is Trump gonna sell our public lands like Utah wants him to?

See page 3 of Trumps plan.

By all means, after the tax cuts we're guaranteed to drown in red ink so this would be the prefect time to sell off public lands.

Team orange doesn't give a FF about public lands. some chumps need to stop lying and take a stand one way or the other.

No.

I'll chime in...

I'm not a Trump lover or a Trump hater, I just find the derangement friggin hilarious. That said, Trump or any other politician for that matter that sells off our federal lands will never garner my support ever again.

Until the full investigation into the Russian thingy comes to light and shows that he illegally conspired with them to win the election, I am willing to give him a chance. If however, he did do something illegal to taint the election process or if he sells off our public lands I will be fully onboard with his removal from office.

I am waiting for NVbighorn to provide evidence and undisputed facts that Trump intends to sell our public lands.

As it now stands we have heard enough lies from the liberal bent wrist left to last us a lifetime.

True that RELH!

This World is F'D Up!

I don't read that to mean selling public lands. If you read the whole document it doesn't allude, infer or say that financing infrastructure projects is to be done by selling public lands.

What it would do is waive almost all environmental safe guards, limits public input on projects, allows tax dollars to fund private projects and nullifies current federal law via executive order.

Calif, This was in no way an attempt to tie Trump to Russia. It was a question about his infrastructure plan. Russia is not my ax to grind. Public lands are and this plan concerns me.

RELH, that document and page I posted are Trumps own plan that the Whitehouse leaked. I didn't make it up. It isn't fake news. It says what it says. I don't have to provide undisputed facts. It's unclear what exactly is meant about disposing of real estate. Does that mean something like what DW suggested with buildings? Does it mean more. What should give me confidence that it doesn't mean selling public lands? Especially when you listen to the so-called conservatives in congress. Zinke has made statements he doesn't believe we should do that. He also sells himself as a Theodore Roosevelt conservationist but has done exactly the opposite at every turn. Instead of getting all defensive and talking about bent wrist liberals how about offering YOUR thoughts on what that statement means?

I do not see where that document states public land is to be sold off. Do you have any further facts that is the intention of selling public land before you put out what appears to be false information.

I, for one, would sure like to know what "Federal Assets" they are planing to "Dispose" of. It seems this is rather unclear, and the sceptic in me thinks maybe it is done on purpose.

It's pretty vague. Disposition of Federal Real Property.

Real Property definition: fixed property, principally land and buildings.

Definition of disposition:a person's inherent qualities of mind and character. The way in which something is placed or arranged, especially in relation to other things.

Then it goes on to say....through executive order (no vote needed) to allow for the disposal of Federal assets.

Assets in this case seems to be referring to real property.

Definition of disposal: the action or process of throwing away or getting rid of something. The sale of shares, property, or other assets.

Yeah, I hope this helps. :D

Through executive order is my biggest concern, whether it's Trump or anyone else in the future.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-01-18 AT 01:32PM (MST)[p]Ok, maybe nobody knows why I tried to draw a line around the part on page 3. It SAYS "federal real property".

All federal real property is in fact owned by the American people. It's a public asset. My concern is that it's so vague. What does it mean?

And yes eel, the real scary part is "by executive order". That should scare the hell out of us. If for no other reason than some future president.

RELH, again, that's not my document. It's the Whitehouse's document. I am skeptical of what it means. I guaran-damn-tee if a left swinging president said that you would be concerned. And you should be. So would I!!!

NVB, I'm well aware that you didn't intend the conversation to be about Russia. I was simply stating the two factors that are absolute deal breakers for me. If Trump conspired with Russia to taint the election and/or if he sells off our great national treasures then I am done.

I highly doubt that either will or did happen but it is where I draw the line. My apologies if you thought I was trying to take your thread off topic.

When Congress gave the President the power of executive order to establish National Monuments, they were 10-40 acre parcels of some historic significance. Now we're up to 1.8 million acres per Monument.

So, with the stroke of a pen the President could sell Humboldt National Forest in Nevada, even though it may start out as a vacant building in Arkansas.

NVBighorn, I am not worried about Trump selling off our recreation public land as I would be if Hillary was in office. She would sell it off and the buyer would be the one who contributes the most to her foundation.
Trump has two sons that are die hard hunters and you can bet those boys will have an influence on their Father over what to do with public lands.
I do have some apprehension of that being drawn up and what a future president may do.
I have no problem with the Feds selling off unused buildings with land that are not being used and costing tax payers money. Also the Feds have a lot of marginal use land near cities that could be sold off as it is not used for recreation purposes except for the locals using it for a dumping ground.

At this point, there is very little we can do. If it gets to a point that they are planning to sell off land that is used by the public for recreation purposes, then we must unite and let our wishes be known that we strongly appose it.

It's a joke. His plan calls for counties and states to come up with 80% of the money as a match. Does he have ANY clue? Thanks for nothing
