I want to Ban Alcohol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've decided I want prohibition again!!! I'm sure it would be very easy to document that by banning alcohol we would save many, many of lives lost to the various illness brought on by alcohol much like suicides with guns. We would also save millions if not billions of medical spent dollars treating those alcohol related illnesses. We would save tons of lives lost to drunk driving along with saving the lives of the people riding with drunk drivers and the people drunk drivers kill by crashing into them. We could also reduce domestic abuse and those killed by their abusers since alcohol is often a related part sometimes like guns.

Why then are guns being attached and not alcohol?? Because the liberals want their wine and don't care about what is important to the rest of us and our 2nd amendment rights. If it doesn't inconvenience them it's OK but it's not logical since no alcohol would save more than no guns but they aren't attacking that now are they.

After Sandy Hoook I heard that crazy left wing radio host Randi Rhodes and I had that same exact argument with her she was saying Utah will give a gun to a kid but won't let adults have a beer. I maide the argument that it is state rights I am good if Californa wants guns ileagly I will never go there and Utah makes the strictis laws on Alcohol and then hopefully crazies like Randi Rhodes wont come hear.

Try to ban it and see what happens. you'll find electing a president is the only place in this republic where minority rules.

Go for it Ned .

Alcohol related deaths are just one of those things that government accepts. Marijuana will soon be the same. Neither is a threat to government. In fact they're a great source of income from taxes. Guns on the other hand....

We should ban religion. Plenty of deaths thru the eons over religion. Besides, it's just another amendment too so it's easy to repeal like the second. But let's start with communion wafers. They are a gateway weapon.

My point is if we are going to start banning things we might as well start with the items that cause the most grief not the most emotional ones. I'm sure I can find a bunch of experts that will testify that if we get rid of the top three causes of auto accidents it would be massively beneficial to us. #1 distracted driving, easy lets outlaw cell phones, #2 speeding, easy lets change the speed limit to 40mph, #3 drunk driving, I refer back to banning alcohol or at lest not allow any alcohol stronger than 6%.

I mean we can't use logical to set laws right? That would be well logical.

We could also make everyone wear a helmet 24-7 , but we're not going to. so back to reality.

We can't live without vehicles, we could live without alcohol but we're not going to, we can easily live without Rambo chit. there are the differences we're looking for in your analogy.

The Pope says there is ho hell. no chit. now I'm waiting for him to admit there is no heaven . reality, what a concept.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-18 AT 08:02AM (MST)[p]It reminds me of a recent project I was on. We were building a warehouse for a well known world wide company. They had safety regulations that were over the top. I'm fine with that and understand why they do it that way. We had a landscape retention that wasn't draining. It held maybe 12" of water and covered about 2000 sqft. During one of our safety meetings, it was brought up that we need to caution it off. No problem. They also said that if someone is going to work within 6' of it they need to have a flotation device. I brought a kids life vest that had the Garfield cartoon character on it that I had as a kid to work the next day and was going to put someone to work wearing it just to be silly. I couldn't do it, but it would've been funny.

You sure spend a lot of time worrying about what other dudes are doing.

I give two shyts about the argument. I don't support banning anything, I am a libertarian. Power to the individual. If grown adults want to smoke weed, own guns, play dress up, fornicate with whomever they want or drink alcohol, I don't much care.

Unlike Utards I don't think the state should babysit adults inside a bar. Utards in general are stupid about what they accept as government intrusion into their privacy but I choose not to live there so it doesn't affect me much.

Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no responsibility at the other.

Quite frankly I agree with you on this part of your argument, I don't really wan't to ban alcohol I'm just saying that we shouldn't be setting any policies or laws by emotion. Yes it's tragic that the world is so screwed up that people have shot up some schools but we can't start passing a bunch of laws that aren't going to help anyway because criminals and insane people don't follow the rules. If the liberals really wanted to save lives there are other things that would do more good but their not, they just see things and act off emotion rather than logic.

But you are fine setting policy via tweets? Trump does everything based on the emotions of the moment.

Nemont

Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no responsibility at the other.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Every other politician that's practically ever lived has try to do only one thing. That one this is to do whatever it takes to get elected again no matter which way the wind is blowing. You might have one or two instances where you think trump did that but by and large he's just trying to do what he said he was going to do "there's a novel idea" whether people like it or not. I don't agree with lots of stuff from both sides of party lines. Quite frankly this isn't even about trump it's about the country being to far right in the 50's and the country is now to far left in 2018. If we don't find middle ground we're in trouble.

I had this same argument on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. I was arguing with a bunch of liberals who wanted EVERY semi-auto banned and some who wanted all guns banned period. When I pointed out that they were just dishonest people by only wanting to ban guns and nothing else that causes death they told me I was "deflecting".

I prefaced the conversation by asking how many of them enjoyed alcohol of any kind and most of them were drinkers either socially or daily. I then proposed a compromise that I would be willing to give up my guns if they would be willing to give up their alcohol. Being that their argument is that guns kill people and we don't need them, I stated that alcohol kills people too and we don't need it to survive but that we as a society have accepted that there will be deaths from alcohol. Again I asked if they would be willing to compromise for the sake of saving lives and not one person that was a consumer of alcohol would give up their alcohol.

Much like our resident drunk on this forum, they are all liars with an agenda of banning guns. I've had this same conversation with our resident alcoholic and offered even another compromise with him that we only ban hard alcohol and that beer and wine would still be legal. Of course he too doesn't give a rats ass about saving any lives. He and the left just don't want you to have the scary looking guns simply because they don't want one. It seriously has nothing to do with saving lives.

I can at least be honest and say that I like to drink beer and have therefore accepted that for me to be able to enjoy it, people will die. Not from anything I did but just by virtue of the fact that beer is legal, people will die. It's nothing short of hypocrisy for libtards to demand the banning of guns while sipping on their favorite drink.

I couldn't agree more, everyone thinks that passing a lot of laws that won't work is the greatest thing unless if affects them!

NeMont said it Himself:

Right out of the Dictionary:

Libertarian
A motley collection of neo-confederates, racists, neo-Nazis, Holocaust revisionists, tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, insecure wannabes and pretentious dicks who consider themselves superior to everyone else because they have heard of Murray Rothbard and the Austrian School of Economics.

Bess, you do know that the urban dictionqry isnt a real dictionary, dont you? The fact that you got a mention in it only makes it less credible.

Lol

Maybe you're right NVB that it's not credible, but the definition perfectly fits the Wizard of Smarts.

Except for not a single thing is true but that never slowed down a lying Trumpette. High net worth certainly does not equal honesty and integrity.

Like you said we both put on our pants one leg at a time. My point is that you and others like to mouth off immediately when challenged by saying "You want to bet? So stupid and childish.

And you like to mouth off with no accountability. if it pizzes you off your opponent in an argument is willing to put money on their opinion and you don't what does that say about you and your opinion ?

You allergic to money ? or do you know you're full of chit and you can't stand anyone to expose it so clearly ? it's one or the other you tell me .

Childish? It is THE only way to pin any Trumpette down on what they claim to believe.

Don?t bet, pretty simple solution to your dislike of wagering.

When has a single Trumpette challenged anyone based on a solid, factual, adult position? The answer is it never happens.

Start with applying actual conservative principle to what actually is happening instead of defending Trump because you voted for him. Then no wagering would ever happen.

I highly doubt that you are capable of having a debate based on what is actually happening.

It always happens this way ocho and nemont always twist the posts so they can just insult and never really debate the topic at hand.
They can't debate when they have no clear facts to back up there position the classic left wing play.

Agreed, I have been watching and reading these post for awhile now and there are two or three guys that treat everything like a competition instead of a discussion. The problem with a competition is neither side will benefit from the discussion. I started this thread with a legitimate logical point willing to listen to all that wanted to share their opinion and like always it gets turned into a crap shot. That's OK I'm always right anyway.

Hey toodumntoohunt,

Go look at which dipshyt brought my name up before I ever posted. I stated I don't care and think banning things is stupid.

So go cry to your butt buddy and gfys with your "left wing" BS.

I am a conservative and as stated lean more and more libertarian. If the same could be said for the Trumpettes then this forum wouldn't be a source of joke material every day.

Like I said, state some facts and lets debate them. You aren't capable of it but see if you can try.

Until then just continue your act as elkasses little beotch, it suits you.

Well, the one-time government tried to ban alcohol, and it caused appearing of big mafia empires that were selling alcohol to people. Remember the AL Capone?

He made his empire during the Prohibition law times. I don't think that ban on alcohol will help people much. I think the best way you can go if you want to fight against alcohol is to create special groups that will help people with alcohol addiction. Doing this will help many people to get life after control. Back then, one of the good rehabilitation alcohol services helped me greatly when I had an alcohol addiction.
