Can you tell me what pressing national American interests are at stake that requires us to go to war with Iran over Israel? Because that is the most likely outcome of any Israeli attack using American provided arms and aircraft.

US hawks have been wanting a war with Iran since Jimmy Carter was president. We could just add them to the quagmire of bad decisions in the middle East. Another no-win or temporary win for us. Long term Peace in that region is unattainable. Not even God or Allah have been able to get there after several thousand years.
