So will we get the same old, never ending, exhaustive gun control whining after today's school shooting? Or, will the idiots like Ochocoward finally realize that there are issues within the schools that cause these shooters to snap?

I've seen first hand high school football coaches belittle kids in front of everyone. I felt sorry for the kid but like most, I kept quiet because I didn't want to draw attention to myself and become someone that was bullied by the coaches too.

I believe that there are coaches who try to act like they're NFL coaches in high school, and really, they're just mediocre coaches who would never cut it in the NFL. There are also coaches who treat everyone with respect and just want to teach boys how to play football. I remember thinking that I hated my coach when he screamed at a teammate and called him a ##### idiot for dropping a pass. That kid quit the team that day. You think Jerry Rice ever dropped a pass?

I'm in no way defending what this shooter did. My point is that every time this happens people blame the guns and fail to get to the bottom of the reasons why the person did it in the first place. If people would hold the coaches and students that bullied this kid to the same level of hatred that they do for the guns that are used, maybe we could begin to put an end to these tragedies.

I suspect that the vast majority of school shooters are bullied either by fellow students or by teachers/coaches.

I'm a couple years away from my 35yr reunion. There wasn't a kid on my football team that didn't experience havein Redman juice sprinkled in his eyes as the head coach had a handful of facemask loudly discussing the finer points of the game to him. He was turning boys to men. In bootcamp we had guys crying when we were being pt mashed for somebody in our unit fughin up while I was tryin hard not to laugh thinkin this was nothin compared to two a days with coach Muir and coach Haskel. Coach Muir was a decorated vietnam veteran with the metal still in his body to go with the medals they pinned to his chest. None of us ever shot up a school. I'll wait to hear more about this kid in the coming days before I blame a football coach.
