This liberal acquaintance in my office complex came up to me and said he was switching political partys to the Repbublican party. Why? " in April we had the largest budget surplus for one month in history." WTF? Cant be true. Anyone?

I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, it's because of what Obama did while he was in office.

Yes, thats what i thought when i heard he was from Montana NeMont. Are you changing your bs on what the budget deficit is going to be this year
What a minute... i trillion deficit in 4 months? Isn't that what you said?

You simpletons think pretty short term don't you ? you have a good month and you go put $100 down on a Leer jet ?

The stock market rally is over. interest rates are rising and so is the national debt. nobody knows where it's going but only a mouthbreather would be bragging at this point. check back in a year and see where we're at.

Homer explained it to you, nearly every April is a surplus. Even when Obama was president and doubling the national debt we ran surpluses in April. Wonder why that would be?

Remember as well that that record tax revenue was collected using the old higher tax rates from 2017 as people filed their 2017 taxes in April.

So if one month makes you all giddy, you must love every April. I hate April 15th but its all good.

Can you tell me how much our debt has gone down? How much spending was cut with the Republican Controlled Congress and White House?

Or are you just simply too much of a liar to admit one month doesn't mean diddly squat?

May 23, 2018 $21,085,944,732,707.85

From February 1, 2018 to May 23, 2018 our debt has increased over half a Trillion dollars.

The 2018 budget deficit and all future deficits will continue to increase even factoring in 3% economic growth.

Let me know how that $4 gasoline is treating you and the economy.

Not that facts matter much to the clown show but since you don't like betting, let's do this: Let's save this thread and review it at the end of the fiscal year to see where the 2018 deficit ends. You most likely won't like where it ends up but at least you will figure out that the morons where you work are as stupid as they appear.

Let's audit Obama?s spending because it was given away and never was an investment , don't blame trump yet.

Who signed the bill that raised spending above Obama's out of control spending? What investment did the new spending make in anything? More Welfare and more war is all.

You should be pi$$3d your guy is increasing spending above what Obama's last budget was, but we know 18 months of Trump and nary a conservative on here cares any longer about fiscal responsibility because Trump is blameless for anything that happens, it is all Obama's fault. Remember when Obama blamed Bush and whine like little girl about?

YBO,

Can you explain why we added almost $72.5 Billion more to the debt in May of 2018 after that claimed April budget surplus? Ask that other idiot who works with you if he can explain why this is happening.

Health care and health care insurance subsidies for Insurance companies (Obama Care)?

I see so we didn't run a budget surplus? I know math isn't a skill many have any more but if there was a surplus as claimed, what happened to it? It wouldn't matter what the money was spent on if the revenue was in excess of expenses.

It is fantastic and we are "only" adding $72.5 billion per month to the debt to "grow" the economy to pay for the tax cuts.

With this growth we will only add another $5 Trillion in Trump's first term. $2 Trillion in just his first 18 months.

If you hated Obama spending like a Drunken sailor and love Trump you are a former Conservative who doesn't care much about the future.

Then quit crowing about how great things are. Used to be conservatives believed you quit spending once you got a growing economy. Now we double spending and borrowing with a Republican controlled White House and Congress, in the face of record tax revenue and a booming economy. It's all a big game of musical chairs and hopefully the music doesn't stop during Trump's first term.

Show me where I crowed about how great things are. I Crow when great things happen. I've been bitching about the debt for the last 4 years on here including a post with the debt total complete with updates every time another trillion went by. Hardly a peep out of you on the thread. I gave up on the thread and it's locked in the archives. Federal government does not have an income problem it has a spending problem. And I've heard you say multiple times it's all baked into the cake so what's the answer? Do we tax everyone at 80%? Like I said I don't think it's an income problem it's a spending problem. Robbing the American people at 80% will only increase the amount of foolish spending both parties love. I think the first time we get a president in office who truly takes our debt seriously he's dead within a week. This thing is going to crash right into the side of a mountain and our politicians are taking all they can while they can. If you believe any one of them gives a s*** about anyone of us or this country you're fooling yourself. The national debt figure doesn't even touch the unfunded liabilities debt we both know of. Last I heard it was 225 trillion. Hard Times ahead, I'd recommend stockpiling.

The growth you are crowing about in your other thread is a result of deliberately increasing the debt. Trump deliberately cut taxes and increased spending. Keep thinking it is all great and dandy.

I never said a peep about the debt? You need to examine what is in the archives. I don't get wound up about the debt just when a democrat is in office like you do. I don't give a pass to the Republicans you do because you agree with their way of running up debt.
