Afghanistan is another example. We're losing troops there and we've been there 15 years. I guess you can't expect to conquer a Super Power like Afghanistan in just 15 short years.

Really? We've lost more school kids to shooting than we've lost in Afghanistan. Why don't we make some common sense gun laws instead of repealing Obama's law that prevented nut jobs (may be some on this board)with mental health issues have weapons. Smart move orange man. there are a lot of generals and senators saying this is a " yuge mistake " . on the surface it seems like the right thing to do. but if 2200 troops really does make the difference they say maybe it's worth it.

Did not Trump make a two part promise to the American people concerning ISIS in Syria.

That he would defeat ISIS where they would not control the territory in Syria as they did in 2015, Then he would not allow our troops to stand in harms way any longer then it was necessary.

Sounds like he kept another promise on this matter.

It depends on who you talk to whether it's mission accomplished or not. Trump seems to be the only one saying it is.

Putin seems to be the only Trump advisor who's happy about it. so while at first I thought it was a good move now I have my doubts.

Graham never met a war he didn't want to extend. Trump is CINC, he is doing the right thing getting out of Syria.

How long would it take to "win" there? What was the definition of "winning" in Syria and more importantly, what vital American interests were we protecting.

It sucks for the Kurds who have been phukkked by us twice now but we simply cannot be in the middle of a civil war without screwing it up.

Let them kill each other, I doubt ISIS is going to be a threat given the Turks, the Kurds, the FSA, The militia's et al. Russia, Iran and Assad are all still at war.
