What is a tanned Mountain Goat shoulder cape worth ?

Here's some backgound info - the cape is from an 8 year old Colorado billy, it was shot in early September, the hair on the cape is very good. There is one bald/rubbed spot above one of the upper eyelids about the size of a dime. The rubbed spot is the main reason why I would sell the cape as opposed to having the mount done. I wanted to do a shoulder pedestal, but I don't feel that the damaged area above the eye can be repaired very well and it would take away from the finished mount from my perspective. The taxidermist that processed the cape is willing to buy the cape from me. I would like to hear your opinions on what you feel is a fair price for the taxidermist to offer for the cape, taking into account that the taxidermist caped the goat and paid for the shipping/tanning of the cape.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Cory from Colorado

I am in need of a good cape.. My buddy shot his goat last month on our BC hunt with a Berger bullet in the neck.. NOT something I would recomend if you want a mount!! the cape was a total loss.
If you are looking for a buyer, I am your guy!! I am serious!

Please let me know if you are willing to sell.

Thanks!

I have a lifesized goat that I am trying to sell that is already mounted. If anyone is interested I would sell it for less than what it cost to have one mounted. A taxidermist could easily swap out horns. It is mounted as a wall mount with nice moss rocks. Anyway, that's just a thought. Send me a personal message with your email and I'll send some pics.

Its worth far more than 100 bucks! You can even get a cheap antelope or deer for that price. Goat capes are rare! I'd be asking at the very least $500, proably more. You'll get it.
