Went over and took a peak at my moose, he is almost done! Wanted to try something different and this is what came out of it.

Moose forms are pretty limited, so they used a wall pedestal form and modified it into a regular pedestal and had to enlarge it cause the only forms they made were too small for the cape size. It looks like it has turned out nice so far.

I am a little worried I didn't go large enough on the pedestal, I am thinking I may have it modified or added on to make it taller. Maybe a seperate peice to set it on top of, that way if I ever move into another place I have options for ceiling heights.

I'll post more pics when it is all done in the next two weeks or so.

Looks great and the cabinet base is nice. I put my Shiras on a 40" tall walnut cabinet, with a granite top. I wanted him to be about as tall as he was alive. His head is up, so he comes to 7'6" overall.

If you think your bull is not high enough, here is an idea that would look sweet. Find a shed palm with some curve to it. Drill a hole in the high spot on the palm and place it points down (some rubber/felt bumpers on the points will protect the cabinet top) with the post running up through the hole. Depending on the curve of the shed palm, you could get 6-12 inches of additional height with the bull sitting on the palm.

I like the finished look of cabinet pedestals. Your is very well put together. Congratulations on a fine bull also.

Looking good so far. Like the idea of your moose mounted on a pedestal. Will be nice to see the finished product.

Eldorado.

Jeff, I am waiting until I get him home to take some measurements and go from there. I am hoping to have him back home in the next week or so and then I'll give you a buzz.
