Hardware for putting wall pedestal on floor pedestal??

So I have a muley mounted as a wall pedestal right now, but I recently finished a cedar stump that I was hoping to move my mount to (similar to Wade Hanks' pedestals advertised here on this site). I believe floor pedestal mounts come with a rod built into them that are used to attach the mount to a pedestal base. Can I buy something from a taxidermy supply shop that will allow me to attach my wall pedestal to my cedar base?

I thought I may just be able to use an L bracket, but that didn't even come close to working. I envision a 4-6" vertical rod with about a 2" square base that I can mount to the top of the stump, and then a piece of tubing that attaches to the back of the mount and fits snugly over the vertical rod.

Surely something like this exists; however, I can't find it on a taxidermy supply web site and can't really think of anything off the top of my head at Home Depot that may work in a similar manner.

Any advice would be appreciated!! I'll post up some pics if I can figure out how to get it to work!

You might try boring a hole in the bottom of your mount where it will attach to the base. Fill it with bondo and add a 2'stick of 3/4" all thread. make your hole 1" bigger than the all thread. Mix the bondo and put it in a plastic 1 gallon zip lock, cut the corner of the bag and squeeze the bond into the hole. Make sure the hole is deep enough to hold the rod, like 1 foot. Once that sets (1 hour), then do the same on the base. One foot of rod in the form and one foot of rod in the base. Two rods are better than one, or somthing that will eliminate it from allowing to spin, perhaps square tubing, or angle iron. Mix the bondo pretty hot so you don't have to hold it long before it sets up.
Make sure your angles are true because once the bondo sets, there is no turning back.
I am a taxidermist and I use bondo daily for these type of projects. This is general info and I would make sure to analize it thoroughly and know what you are doing before you do it. Hope this helps.

Don't be shy to give Sam a call, he will take the time to make sure you are getting exactly what you need. I called him and he customized an order for me to fit the project I was working on. An absolute great guy to do business with. He told me call if you get in a pinch and need advice. Lots o luck with the project!
