Got last years buck back from my taxidermist a few weeks back...just finding time to post it up. I live on the escarpment between the Texas Hill Country and South Texas Plains (Brush country) and a buddy of mine had picked up this Cedar stump north of where we live...remnant of a brush fire several years ago up in the hills and Cedar breaks. Thought the Cedar stump would be appropriate and look good as this buck came from SE Colorado where the country was creek bottoms, pinon hills and wheat/alfalfa field land. Hope you guys like it too.
I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall as my wife has let me put both this and a Stone sheep I killed last year in the Living Room! I'm burning the candle at both ends! :)

That is one of the best stumps used for a mount I've seen. That Old lookin buck and that stump go great together. U gotta smile Everytime u see that in your house. Nice thanks man for posting.
 
Thanks guys for all the comments...here's hoping you drew the tags you wanted this year and best of luck! Not looking to good here and may have to plan an OTC or Landowner tag if I'm gonna get to go huntin this year...still waitin on AZ!
