Velvet care in the field

I'm going on a 5 day backcountry mule deer hunt next week and I'm just wondering what the options are for in field care for the velvet. I'll be on the hunt with 2 buddies and we aren't coming out until we've all killed bucks or our hunt is over so there's a possiblity that the velvet will have to keep for up to 5 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Contact your taxidermist and see if he would give you some formaldahyde, get a little hypo needle from IFA, when you get a deer dont touch the velvet to much and cape the head and inject the antlers

Srpay it on works great and easy!

Don't forget about taking care of the cape too. Very important during this time of year with the hot weather.
