There are a lot of "how to's" on the internet. Most involve boiling. I have used several different taxidermists in the Evanston Wy. area and they both have been more than willing to share their methods. It can be fun to experiment yourself, but if you have a real trophy,it is well worth the cost to have it professionally done. Following instructions will get the job done, but having someone that does it for a living will get the job done right. They just have a feel for the whole process, and the right tools and equipment to complete the job.

It is very easy.
Clean the skull of as much meat as possible, especially make sure that you have removed everything right up to the opening of the brain cavity. Then simmer the skull in a mix of water and Arm and hammer laundry detergent. by the time that the remaining meat is falling off the skull you will be able to shake out most of the brain which will be in small pieces or completely mush. Use a garden hose to spray out whats left and return it to the pot for a little longer to finsih up any sraps that the hose couldn't get. This easier if you can identify the ear-bone and remove it at this point.
Sometimes tweezers are good for grabbing stubborn fibers in the tiny holes and pockets of the skull.
I have done two bear skulls and a deer using the method above.

If you want it done right, use beetles. We stopped boiling skulls back in the 80's.

take a drill and insert a small wire about 8" long and put a 1/2" bend in the tip of it. insert it into the last vertebra and turn on the drill. This will turn the brains into mush. Shake them out into a trash can. worked for me on my diy euros.

i use to blow the brains out. warning it goes everywhere. i also use it blow crap out the nasal cavity, if you like the nasal cavites inside dont go to nuts. i also use it to blow on the loose chunks of meat that just dont quite come off from sitting in the water.
its nice for the brains so your not fishing all that crap out. but you will still have to pull out a couple parts that really like to stick to inside of the skull
