Black Bear Rug

I'm interested in knowing what I would expect to pay for a black bear rug. I understand they are priced per linear foot, but how exactly is that measured? Is that like a standing height of the bear, or finished product head to tail? Head to foot? I admittedly don't know much on the subject, and I'm thinking of doing a bear hunt in the near future. Just trying to get a feel for what I should expect for taxidermy, if I'm successful. Thanks

You can expect about a $1k for a good quality job, but it also depends on the size.

About $150/lineal foot (nose to tail is how they measure it) is what you should expect to pay. I flat rate my bear rug work at $550 (I get hosed if someone brings me a 7 footer!).
