Elk hide question

So i do a little taxidermy 3-4 animals a year for buddys, i had a deer hide tanned that had a little green on it which I guess was a spoiled spot and the hair fell out where the hide was green. A buddy just gave me an elk cape to mount his bull but it has a couple big green spots, is there a chance it will be o.k or am i wasting my time and money if i send it off?

I guess what i am asking is that since i am not a very experienced taxidermist i am sure there are some on here with a ton of experience and Im sure they have had hides brought to them with green rotted spots do they try and send them in or is it a lost cause and just toss the cape?
