Bear skull

Just got my bear skull back from the taxidermist. This is the Euro mount that I have where the jaw wasn't glued or somehow attached to the skull. I'm planning on hanging it on the wall next to my hog skulls using a mount that hooks into the back of the skull where the spinal cord enters.

I'm wondering if anyone knowledgeable knows if it's OK to use Superglue or something similar to attach the jaw, or if there is a better method?

EB, you can use a small amount of clear epoxy in the seam where the two pieces rest inside each other. You can keep it closed or prop it open while it dries. Just use a small amount. If you ever decide to change it later on, they can be popped apart without damaging it. Just use one small drop on each side.

I used Devcon 5 minute epoxy, I had a taxidermist recommend it to me since it will hold steady but if you need to separate it for any reason you still can (by carefully cutting it away). So far I love the look of mine, it hangs on a skull hooker.

I prefer elmers glue cause it holds strong enough, but if you ever wanted to undo it you can just wet the glue with a little water and it will soften back up and come apart without any damage.

Devcon epoxy +1

I'd recommend epoxying it permanently so it doesn't come apart when picking it up to view. My taxidermist used Devcon clear epoxy. It is crystal clear and is practically invisible in the joints. I never have to worry about anything becoming loose or teeth falling out no matter how much I handle it.
