I'm heading out to WY next week for my sheep hunt and realized I've never hunted in weather as warm is it may be this time of year.

I've always treated capes just like meat and never had a problem ever. but I'm wondering if in this case I should salt it?

You can salt it if you properly turn the lips, ears, tail and hooves. A good clean skinning job will help a bunch also. Leave as much meat on the carcass as possible. Stop- rot will help stop bacteria and deterioration. Dont submerge it water that will promote bacteria.
