Sheds onto a Shoulder Mount???

Found a nice set of sheds this year. He's a 170" buck (short G2s kept him from pushin that 180" mark.)

I was gifted a cape from a neighbor last season as payment for doing a Euro mount on his 170" buck. I'd very much like to have a shoulder mount done using the sheds I picked up, but I'm not sure how to best put the sheds together solidly.

My bro-in-law had some sheds mounted and the taxidermist used rebar and some kind of epoxy I think..?? He drilled out the shed bases, and bent the rebar at the angles he thought it should be, then just epoxied the antlers onto it. Is this legit..?

Any advice you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

I've mounted a couple sets I while back and used artificial skull plates. I drilled a slightly smaller hole in the horn and attached them with lag bolts. Then it's just the usual mounting process after that.

Lag Bolts sound like a pretty solid way to do it. I will definitely take that under advisement.

Thanks Ncole... :)
