Hi Gang! Some do some don't but those that know and pick and eat wild mushrooms with their fish and game meats are really eating good in my book.

Pretty soon (about now) we're going to be noticing a tall clump of whitish looking fungi growth popping up tall along side our access roads into the back country. They can darn near pop up through asphalt, grow in groups, and taste very good indeed They are ink caps or Shaggy Mane's by their other name. Good stuff! I recommend you putting them to use the same day you pick them. I've froze them before to mixed result. They are best picked and eaten while still in their cap or button stage.

A venison roast cooked as usual only smothered liberally in shaggy manes and a skosh of red wine. Rare to medium rare as always, believe me, your taste buds will thank you!
