I used Hi-Country brand dry cure but there are many others. After dry cure is complete put about 1 cup dark corn syrup per 6 pounds of jerky then smoke in a smoker with hickory chips. I promise you will be thanking me, unless you don't like some sweetness in your jerky. After all, we all have different tastes.

That sounds good DeerMadness. I'd suggest adding a touch of paprika or cayenne. Sweet and spicy tend for a perfect mix. How do you mold your jerky? I've been thinking of getting a jerky gun for more evenly made sticks.
 
The jerky gun from cableas is the neated thing for jerky. I use it all the time. Still using different spices and most are great.
 
1 big bottle teriyaki
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons Cayanne
Red pepper flakes

Cover the meat and soak overnight
SWEAT AND SPICEY Jerky!!!!
