I feel more then Blessed that my family is all alive and well. My oldest daughter was driving with my wife in the passenger seat and our four little kids in the back seats. Everyone got glass on them and some small cuts. The elks head came through the windshield and had to have been very close to hitting my wife. Feeling watched over!!!!

DW, I would but Oregon does not allow salvaging the meat. If they get to it soon enough they take it to one of the Homes in the area. Time for a new family rig.

Blessed is right! Many people have not been so lucky.
Glad everyone is OK. The vehicle can be replaced.
We love to have great elk numbers, but they certainly can become a hazard.

Glad to hear that the family is okay. The vehicle is replaceable. I would recommend a Toyota Sienna from 2004-2006 for a replacement.

I watched a guy hit a bull elk in a single cab Ford Ranger doing about 80 MPH in 2004. He was taken to the hospital for a broken arm and ribs.

Grateful for your safety. Duct tape, visqueen, rattle can, an old trailer taillight, and you'll be back on the road.

Damnation man!
That turned out about as good as it could have....for the humans! Happy you're alive to tell about it.

geezz that is too close! Very lucky small cuts was only issue!

Looks like road hunting gone too far.

dz, Glad to hear everyone is OK. Maybe the incident will be beneficial in the long run by educating the kids for when they begin driving.
