Drew an early season unit 47 wilderness rifle hunt. Scouted the upper south fork frying pan drainage and saw nothing but elk and bear. Not even any deer sign. Any leads?

It was really good. Learned a lot about the high country and what I do and don't need for a week in the wilderness. I ended up taking a nice 4x4. He had another smaller buck and a doe with him, but those were the only deer I saw in a week. Plenty elk. Actually put in for a muzzlelaod elk tag for the same unit this year. There's for sure big deer up there, but not in the numbers that really warrant that much effort I reckon. Beautiful country up there

Ridgehunter, I'm taking a scouting trip there this August with the hopes of bowhunting it next year... I have a plan of where I'm going to hike in and possibly start looking.... Any chance we can exchange a few PMs or anywhere I shouldn't look?
