OnXMaps Customer Service

I am somewhat amused at how OnXMaps gets all these recommends when you can not even finds a telephone number or email address to contact them if you have problems. It is a great app when it works but I have had the property ownerships boundary layers stop working several times. I so wanted to upgrade to the premium membership but this lack of customer service has me wanting to look for an alternative.

Experienced the same in and out service during the past couple of weeks. Was moving around a lot and wanted property boundaries available at all times especially having had taken the time to do multiple offline maps. Super frustrating to say the least.

Same here sometimes mine works other days it's worthless! I won't be renewing mine.

I sent an email 2 days ago, received a reply in less than 15 minutes. Guess I got lucky. There was a disclaimer saying to email not call due to high call volumes. Great product when it works.

After the big advertising rush, they must lay off the stooges planting their recommendations on random forums.

I had good customer service when the public/private land status quit showing up on my phone. It didn't work for a few days and all of the sudden started working. I don't know if they fixed anything or it fixed itself.

One time I had a problem updating a chip online and they just mailed me new chip. Now I have two chips for Wyoming.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-03-16 AT 01:49PM (MST)[p]I had decent customer service from them once I did locate a phone number, but did not like the "fix" to my problem.

Note: I was using my iphone, not a gps and card.

I was preparing for my Colorado hunt probably 7-10 days prior to leaving and wanted to use my offline maps for my iphone. I saved/downloaded all my maps - about 10 of them in total. They take a while to download, but I figured I was done once they were downloaded.

I drive 14 hours, get to my unit, turn the phone to airplane mode and figure I was good to go. Get the paper maps out and turn on OnXmaps and nothing but grey maps and little red arrows. WTH I think to myself. Fiddle with it for 30 minutes or so and then drive back to town where I had service. Google up the phone number and call them. The nice man on the other end of the phone indicates that there was an update to the server and that I needed to delete the app from my phone, reload the app, and re-download the offline maps. WTF! I'm in Colorado ready to hunt. That's bull. Instead I head to my hotel, check in, and sit in the room and re-download all my maps. I was hot. Maybe this was just user error, I don't know. Talk about losing confidence in a product. How do I prevent this from happening again?

I had good luck with customer service this summer. Called and got right through right away. But it was a question regarding the gps chip. Buy the chip for your Garmin and be done with it. Especially out here in Wyoming where your in and out of service with a phone. Never had a issue with the gps/chip combination.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-03-16 AT 07:25PM (MST)[p]Well I never got ahold of them but my layers came back up. That was after I sent them an email so maybe they did something to fix it. Deleting the app and reading it is one of there online fixes to problems.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-23-17 AT 04:45PM (MST)[p]I have to LOL when you guys talk about using all those fancy phones, etc. and then don't just go on the website they have and everything to contact them is right there just like the representative posted on this thread.

Back a few years ago when I first subscribed I noticed that for the iPhone the offline maps had an accuracy of +/- 1,000 feet...not too good when you're trying to stay legit.

I tried calling/emailing and basically came to the conclusion I'm SOL.
I tried leaving multiple, articulate, honest experience reviews on their website and guess what?...they were all deleted.

So now I'll say it like I think it. The phone app sucks!

It took me three months to get the app to work, they had me blocked because I upgraded online vs. in the app and didn't credit my account any time, I got my map service working two days after my hunt ended. Their customer service if you want to call it that is horrendous, and I would recommend everyone stay away from their service. Speaking of which its coming up on the time for me to cancel. I refuse to pay for another year of the phone app that cost me knowing if I could shoot on a hunting spot I had never hunted before.

I've always had good customer service from OnxMaps. I've worked in the data processing industry where we have to rely on software and it always has issues -- that's why they release updates, and fix issues when people find them.

I have worked with OnXmaps for a few years and know they care about customer service -- Try emailing or calling the number they posted on the thread. I expect they will take care of you guys!

I saw the upgrades available & heard about the phone app,but I don't use my phone for a pc as I don't live in a city with service or even know or care what an app is.....lol.
So I went to website & called.
Had a new upgraded GPS chip for NM in PO box 2 days later....& detailed instructions on how to load maps & layers into phone without using cell service.
I still just trust my compass & maps, but do use a GPS for the last 10 yrs too.
