Look like the bill that sought to sell off 3.3 million acres has been axed as a result of all our complaining and letters.

Does not mean we are in the clear, but this poorly conceived bill met harsh resistance from the public and the bill is being pulled.

I have no doubt that there are some public lands that should be sold/transferred due to access issues etc.

I personally attacked this bill only because the land proposed was based on DATA from 1997 and in 20 years a lot of priorities and ownership has occurred. I however did research a few small pieces locally, and all were of no significant value to the public.

Some of the other hunting forums have posts from people with pictures of fishing trips and antelope hunting on some of the land that was to be "disposed" of, so there certainly was land in that bill that was quality hunting/fishing land.

I am just grateful the bill was pulled and hopefully the land-grab proponents have heard that sportsmen don't want their land sold.

Sitka and First Lite have been vocal opponents and KUIU posted a video last night in strong opposition. Realtree also posted their opposition to go along with Eastmans and just about every conservation group (except SFW).

C'mon SFW, step up to the plate and help us fight this terrible land grab agenda.
