Glad I didn't bet the house on getting drawn for elk.I thought for sure I had enough points to draw.I know this is a loaded question but if a person did'nt draw in Wyoming where would you look for a rifle elk hunt?I know there is alot of public land in Montana but i have never hunted there.I am not wanting to crowd on anybody just looking for some help.I am open to any state. Thanks

Lots of trees in Colorado too, but if one wants to go hunting, you deal with it. And if one looks, there are real good options in Colorado. Atleast I think so.

Yep, Colorado. There may be lots of hunters but there are lots of elk. You may just have to work a little harder.

Every hunting season you miss is one you can not make up

not UTAH
they have about wipe out all open bull units with 5 years unlimited cow tags, and it looks like a pumpkin patch opening weekend.

NM is still open. Then there's WY Antelope and Deer. Then the leftover draw for all three of those. Hunting in WY is pretty much a gimme.

Northern Idaho..Montana above the Whitefish area. When I lived in Jackson WY I couldn't draw to save my life either. Probably why I moved up to Ak. Now back in Idaho. And working on draws again.
